Ensuring availability of water round the year near Vishnupad Mandir on left bank of Falgu River in Gaya District, Bihar. Main Contractor:- NCC Limited Irrigation Division Brief Description of Project Gaya is historically and from tourist point of view very important place in the India. Vishnupad temple on left bank of Falugu river and Sita Kund on the right bank are important pilgrimage and tourist places in the state of Bihar and in India also. Gaya is famous for pind-dhan rituals which needs water for performing the same. River Falugu is subjected to heavy floods in the rainy season and dwindles to a small stream with meager water flow in the other times of the year. Due to this performing Pind-dhan rituals is becoming difficult. To ensure the availability of water in Falugu river the Rubber dam is provided across the river for a length of 411 meters on Down stream of Vishnupad temple. The water will be regulated or stored with installing bullet resistant air inflated rubber dam of 3.00 meters height. To control the seepage from the ponding area sheet piling and Diaphragm wall on both flanks and axis of rubber dam are doing as per the guidance of IIT Rourkee.
