Company Description:
Appleland is a second generation of farm. In 1986, Appleland harvested its first crop (Applelanndstation.com, n.d.). And now, this
organisation is more than just a farm. It is a Family picnic spot, an Entertainment Place, an Animal Farm, a Store, a Bakery, an
educational institute, overall a complete Business facility.
Ernie Muzylowsky is the owner and pioneer of this business. He first purchased 50 acres of land and started cultivating this land. At
first, they were growing only Apple crop. Later on, they started cultivating Pumpkin and maze as well (“For the lover of Apples”,
2016).
Appleland Station is among the 8 best Apple picking spots of Canada (Miller, 2018).

Government Policies
In Canada government provides different policies to
avoid financial risks and gives constant stability to
their investors and industrialists. Some policies like
Advance Payments Program (provide low interest
cash advances), Agricultural Climate Solutions (new
innovative techniques to tackle with changing
climate), etc. (Canada, n.d.)

So, there is great impact of these policies on
Appleland company like they get new technologies
to fight with natural calamities and provides stability
in their financial circle.
Foriegn Trade Policies
Recently Canadian government poses a new policy
which helps the producer, processor and industry
associations to trade easily at international level
(Agri-Food Trade Services for Exporters) and
furthermore Canadian government signs many
treaties with other countries to trade their products.

Foreign policies like opening gates to trade
internationally helps lot to the Appleland company
to export their quality products to the other nations
easily and it helps them to grow in the international
market.

All agriculture employees working in Ontario, are
protected under the Employment Standards Act
(ESA). This act includes 4 categories – farm
employees, harvesters, near farmers and landscape
gardeners. (Ontario, 2022)
Economic Growth
As per the government data the economic growth in
agro-industries had been increased in past few years
and in Canada agriculture and agro based industries
provides 1 in 8 jobs and accounts for 6 percent in
Canada’s GDP. Due to its abundant land and water
capacity and good access not international market it
provides sustainable economic growth. (Canada,

These laws help the employers as well as owner
because employees feel safe when they know that
they have rights to get equal amount of wages as
compare to their work which directly impact on the
work they do in the farm or company.

Due to constant economic growth it helps the
company to establish their industrial approach
worldwide.
Inflation Rates
Inflation is the rising cost of consumer goods. As per
the policy makers the main reason for inflation is
global supply chain disruption due to covid which
effects in decrease in providing demand of
population. It is very surprising that inflation rate is
very high than normal. (Economy at work, 2021)

Increase in prices of commodity effects very badly
in selling of products of specific company because
people now avoiding products those are high on
rates.
Interest Rates
In the past year the interest rates increasing
continuously to tackle the problem of higher inflation
rates but parallelly it also impacts on increase in the
product and equipment rates. The real effects are
high cost of holding inventory and think before
buying any equipment in agricultural industry.

company totally based on frequent use of heavy
machinery and holding their assets in their
warehouse.

transparency builds the trust of the consumers over
the products. They will adhere to the usage of the

“interested in learning more about where their food
comes from.
Curiosity of people to know what they are eating
Due to this factor their brand value has increased.
Additionally, other farmers are also joining them to
sell their products on their store.

According to the Statista (2022), In Canada 65.69
percent people are into the 15-64 age groups. This
age group is ready to make healthy life choices.

attracted to the Appleland Station because they
provide them with fresh and natural products.

The Appleland Station was an apple growing orchard
at first. But later on with they started making Pies,
TECHNOLOGICAL Chutney, Jam, jelly Cakes and farm grown Chicken,
Turkey etc. This is all because of the Technological
advances.

They have entered different sectors of food chain.
You can-not expand business focusing on one
factor\product only. You need to expand the
horizon. There are different people with different
needs. Because of different manufactured products
of Appleland Station more people have become their
consumers. Thereby, it has a positive on the
business.

With the advancement in online media\channels
Appleland also started to provide their product
online.

products. Because, it is not possible for everyone to
visit the place physically.

In 2012, There was a famine and they were unable to
sale anything. The early frost severely affected the
crops and they observed stunted growth of Apples

It has great effect in agriculture production. Crops
and fruits grow well in their favourable weather
conditions. Canada has cold weather and it is good
ENVIRONMENTAL for temperate fruits to grow and develop properly.
Lake Erie, Lake Huron, and Lake St. Clair are the
reason why there is rich flora in the areas where
Appleland Station is situated (“Shaped by nature”,
n.d.). This is the reason why the land is fertile. The
yield is robust.
