The improved mobility of goods and services and a safer journey for travelers are expected after the completion of a bridge widening project at Curimao Bridage along Junction Logac-Magapit road in Lallo Cagayan. The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Cagayan First District Engineering Office is implementing the bridge widening project at a cost of P46.55 million, targeting it for completion before the seconf quarter of the year. 5. District Engineer James P. Ferrer reported on Tuesday to OIC-Regional Director Loreta M. Malaluan that the widening to 7.32 meters of the 50.6 meter long bridge will soon be completed. LEAD Not all schools will resume lessons in physical classrooms – 1,004 schools are still implementing remote classes for the meantime. In a press briefing on Friday, August 19, Department of Education (DepEd) spokesman Michael Poa said a total of 24,175 schools will implement five days of face-to-face classes and 29,721 schools will hold classes through blended learning. QUOTATION “Some schools will be in person, five days. Some schools will be blended. But let’s not forget that blended learning also has inperson classes for three days [in a week]. And then there’s full distance learning. So we are not expecting all of our schools to go to in-person immediately but we’re expecting that on Monday, most of our public schools will definitely go to-in person, five days,” Poa said in a Rappler Talk interview on Friday. Tail - contains less important information PANEL DISCUSSION - a public exchange of ideas, giving experts and audience members the chance to discuss a particular topic. -The panelists discuss the issue or topic with each other by asking questions or reacting to the views and opinions of other panel members. - The leader, moderator or chairman opens and closes the discussion and provides a summary of panel presentations & discussion. TYPES OF SPEECH ACCORDING TO DELIVERY A. MEMORIZED SPEECH - a speech that the speaker has mastered in his mind and heart. Examples: Valedictory Speech, Speech Choir, Toast Speech B. EXTEMPORANEOUS SPEECH - a type of speech delivery that involves the preparation of speaker notes before delivery, associated with the conversational style of delievery. Examples: Lecturing, Hosting C. IMPROMPTU SPEECH - speech intended to be done without any preparation at all and also known as on the spot speaking. Examples: Recitation, Question and Answer Portion on a Pageant, Debate, Interview D. MANUSCRIPT SPEECH - implies reading a pre-written speech word by word. TYPES OF SPEECH ACCORDING TO PURPOSE 1. INFORMATIVE SPEECH -written to present fascinating and useful information to increase the knowledge of your audience. 2. PERSUASIVE SPEECH -usually challenges aan audience's beliefs and or tries to move those in attendance to change existing viewpoints or at least recognize the validity of opposing viewpoints. 3. ARGUMENTATIVE SPEECH -is a persuasive speech in which the speaker attempts to persuade his audience to alter their viewpoints on a controversial issue. - It aims to radically change the opinions already held by the audience. 4. DEMONSTRATIVE SPEECH -speech that tells/shows an audience how to do something. It requires that you provide instruction by using materials in which to perform a specific task.
