Artificial intelligence, geotargeting, automation, and other advancements in information technology specifically set the stage for more technological evolution. Robotics is becoming smarter, and even our thermostats and refrigerators can be connected to the internet. Technology has been making our life easier by giving us access to amazing tools and resources. The illustration shows many implications. First, it shows a man and a woman can form relationships online. In this specific photo, they seem to have met online and form a bond through it. Unlike before, we can look or go through dates online now. Second, a parent is supposed to pamper the babies with love, but because of the use of technology, they neglect their basic responsibility to their child(ren). This experience may result in babies being exposed to technology at a very young age, making them also a product of technology. For example, kids before will always play outside and play together, but today, the majority of the kids are always on their gadgets, playing online games, and watching videos on youtube. Challenge in Teaching and Learning Communication and attention are essential in the teaching and learning process. We should not highly expect that students know everything. As teachers, we should form a rapport with the students through communication, and getting to know them. We should not leave them in their journey of knowing themselves and of their purpose and guide them according to their attended needs. Concerning technology in education, teachers need to productively and effectively facilitate the students with the proper use of technology in the classroom. Integrating technology in the classroom should not compromise the learning experience of the learners, as well as, their academic and holistic development (e.g., social and psychological). The curriculum emphasizes information, infrequent skills, and occasional action. It also lacks clarity about teachers' and students' expectations and goals in using instructional materials. The Philippines' education system is inadequate, resulting in numerous difficulties in the country. In that instances, vague and unclear standards in various subject areas across many regions complicate issues and do not serve as concrete standards for what students should know and be able to do. Additionally, the lack of funds in the educational sector may lead to inadequate and outdated technology in classrooms. Teachers may not be also equipped and comfortable with the updated technology for teaching, which may give rise to traditional and outdated technology. This encounter may cause students to graduate without proper skills/ with substandard skills. Many factors have contributed to low educational standards. Low government education budgets, poor teaching quality, poor school management, poor school facilities such as laboratories and libraries, poor learning environment, curriculum content, insufficient books and equipment, substandard method of instruction, classroom shortages, and other factors have all been identified as contributing to the worsening quality of education. In this scenario, it is not unusual to hear college professors complain about the quality of students that attend their classes. They criticize the students' inability to produce even a single right sentence, much less an entire paragraph. Private schools have been criticized for producing barely graduates who eventually join the list of the country's educated unemployed. All of these are signs of poor educational quality, particularly the lack of technology integration in classrooms. Therefore, the Philippine government is the driving force to develop the curriculum in the education system that may help learners to be globally competitive. Moreover, it can cause some psychological problems such as delusion and isolation. Some people also prioritize technology over other important things such as food, time, and rest. For instance, the picture displays two men isolated on an island. They appear to be lost and trapped on the island. Technology here is used as a tool for survival that perhaps, will help them communicate with the rescue team. However, it seems the man in the green shirt is having delusions because of too much use of technology. Another interpretation is that some people will go to lengths just to use technology even if it is dangerous. Thus, technology is good when correctly used but harmful when abused. Challenge in Teaching and Learning The implications of this graphic in teaching and learning are the distortion of the student-teacher interaction, students' isolation when using technology, and the dangers of technology to learners. Foremost, one of the risks of technology in education is learners might get disconnected from the real world. In the present context, teachers communicate with their students using different ICT tools instead of physically teaching them. Hence, it will lead to less interaction between teachers and learners which may also cause students to be wired on technology and isolate themselves. Finally, technology may have helped in improving the teaching and learning process, but because of the broad information the technology provides, the students may be misguided with wrong information that may harm their educational development. In addition, technology also poses threats to students’ security such as they may be directed to harmful things (pornography, scam, phishing) on the internet because of disguised information/ disinformation. To overcome these challenges in teaching, schools should educate both teachers and learners with the positive use of technology and block applications and websites that are inappropriate to students and at school. Nowadays, people rely too much on the internet, even just answering subjective or easy questions. For example, the picture depicts that the man can't answer, even a simple question. It is just because the computers are down. In this case, computers can make people lazy and unproductive because they keep them from unlocking their full potential. Technology dependence on education is evident in the present context. It may result in students becoming too reliant on the fast information they can get from the internet and may create a culture of cheating. This incident is a challenge to teachers, wherein they must impart the value of honesty to students. This challenge in teaching and learning is highlighted in the picture. Even when answering a subjective exam, students often look for answers on the internet (plagiarism/cheating) instead of formulating their answers. They depend too much on technology, which affects the development of their higher-order thinking skills. Technology has its benefits and advantages, but we must remind the students to be independent and responsible for their learning.
