that describe a phrase. The students will guess
the phrase that is being described by the

Story circle
Let’s have a game called story circle. Each of you will
pick a card that contains figurative phrases or
sentences.
Let’s begin the story by saying something like One
upon a time…” As the students tell the story,
periodically hold up a figure of speech card. The
student must then use the figure of speech phrase or
line within the sentence/s that you created added to
the story. Continue until everyone has a turn.

The class will be grouped into two. Then, I will play a
song and you will identify what figure of speech was
used. The group with the highest score will be the
winner.
