What went well during teaching? The planned curriculum was executed well on time.Students came after a long-time spending summer vacation. Forward and Backward Counting was done as revision. We started the topic counting different objects from surroundings that could give students an idea of how they are going to incorporate this mathematical operation in day-to-day activities. Students were able to grasp the concept of Ascending and Descending order effectively because of the sound understanding of numbers to 10. Students were able to grasp the concept of ordering numbers within 10 quit easily, since they were familiar with the numbers within 10. They showed keen interest while solving the questions on board and were very responsive to each question being asked and very active during the activities being done. They did the work book pages independently with little assistance from the teacher which shows their grip and understanding of the topic. 2. What did not go well? Students in the beginning were struggling with the placement of ones and tens later on they grasped the concept well. Few of the students had difficulty in identifying greatest number, they were comfortable while comparing 2- digits. But found confused while comparing 3 numbers. 3. How to improve the lesson? Lesson could be improved immensely if I would have planned more activities. As the students of grade 1 are more attracted towards different colours and toys. 4. Identify students requiring extra assistance and the measures were taken for them. The lesson was repeated with the help of more examples. Repeated concept and asked questions to revise concept again. 5. State completion plan, if Incomplete.
