Formal Report
Choosing the suitable project
Project no.1 : - spinach cultivation
This project is a social enterprise. My team of four ICSE
classmates plan to sell spinach and seedlings.
 Advantages
 Growing plants is one of the best ways to help the
environment. If this enterprise selling plants which
are cheap to buy and maintain attracts customers,
then it is a good way to make the earth cleaner and
greener.
 Many people are concerned about their health as
there is numerous no.of awareness around us
about eating natural components. So there’s no
worries on selling it.
 Growing spinach helps in ecological balance.
 Helps atleast a family as they get employed by this.
 Disadvantages
 These plants can be easily affected by pests.
 We can’t expect a valuable profit from this
business.
 The freshness is hard to maintain if it is not
cared properly.
 It is a time consuming process.
 Requires standard fertilizers and pesticide
which can cost more than profit.

be there to raise it.

 Spinach should be
sprayed with high cost
insecticide and pesticide
which can exceed the
profit.
Political
 If our product caused any
trouble to the consumers
it can cause a big
problem.
Market Research
Primary Market Research
For primary search we have used surveys and questionnaires.
This will be done online through Google forms.
We sent the poll to 30-50 people aging around 20-60 as they’re
the major customers of spinach. We evaluated customers need
and desire through asking various questions directly to people.
The questions we shot out were as follows:
*Would u prefer buying spinach.
*what cost could be reliable for you to buy.
*would you prefer buying red spinach or green spinach.
Project No. 2:- Egg incubation:
This business is all about hatching eggs and selling it as various
age chick as per customer request. We take orders from
potential customers and satisfy their number of chick required.
 Advantages
 The hatched chick costs thrice of raw egg.
 Doesn’t require much caring during 21 days of
incubation.
 The availability of chicks is low which can increase the
demand and selling price.
 The chicks can also be sold as 1 day chick which is
actually 0% effort.
 Making of incubator is easy and cost effective.
 Incubator requires less current.
 Possibility of chick hatching can be increased when
egg is kept under incubator than mother hen.
 Disadvantages
 There’ll be loss in chick when hatching.
 100% of egg fertilization wouldn’t occur.
 Chick feed is costly.
 Proper shelter should be allocated else external
factors can affect it.

 I know well about

care of that.

 I don’t have proper
decision taking skill.

 I’ve a proper
electricity supply.
 I’ve a farm friend
to whom I can
sell all my chicks.

 There’s a lot of cat and
snakes near my home.

 There can be particular
season whereas the
rate of chicks can be
reduced gradually.
 If anything happens to
the sold chick we’re
answerable.
 If municipality comes
to know about the
raising of chicks they
would check our place.
Economic
 If chicks are affected
by any disease it
could became a
miscellaneous
expenditure for us.
 More number of
chicks require a costly
shelter.

Type of project:
we chose partnership just because profits and loss
can be shared within. Sole trader don’t want to share his profit
but if he faces loss he should experience as a single soul.
Though in partnership we have to share the profit if we face
over a loss we could avoid the whole burden by sharing among
them.
Evaluation and justification of the chosen project:
We chose project 2 over project 1. From the market research, I
can conclude that most of the potential customers preferred
chick masks over the spinach cultivation. The idea of chicks is
very unique hence it attracts a lot of customers and brings
much profit. My team likes nature, so all the members can
participate and finish . eggs are relatively cheaper as well. After
Covid-19, many people buy chicks to get their own eggs.
There is less competition since there are not many businesses
near us. My team did not choose project 1 because more
investment is needed to buy seed and pots as well as transport
costs. It’s hard to gain profit in spinach business , as it's a social
enterprise we could suffer a loss if the costs of the enterprise
invested is not covered. It is also not easy to transport and
package spinach for us as well as for the customers. It is also
hard to keep the spinach fresh in stock. If the spinach do not
look fresh, the customers will not buy them By analysing the
risks of project 1 and 2, my team has decided to go with egg
incubation

Task 2A
Business plans: A formal document that gives the aims of the
enterprise and outline ways those aims will be achieved.
Preliminary information: The name of the business is a4 chicks
which is situated in Malai vilai veedu market road mathandam.
The objectives are to get eggs from egg farm and to incubate it
and sell as chicks. Eggs can be received from egg farm for nearly
rs.10 and the incubating days are nearly 21 and after the eggs
are hatched it can cost from 30 -50 based on season.
Marketing: Egg business doesn’t have a wide market to sell just
because people don’t tend to make egg incubation as a
business. So there’s no competition to sell eggs which can
profit us in many ways. As there’s no competition the priced
amount could be favourable for us. So I decided to price it from
40-50 for 1 day chick, and 30 day chick is 100-150.
Promotion is a key source for this business so I decided to
promote through social media which is actually less cost and
effective. The products are 1 day chick and 30 day chick.
Chicks are prepared from marthandam and through free
transport home delivery is also available.
Operations:- The eggs are gathered from nearby egg farm and it
is kept in incubator under 37.5 celcius and 50-55 humidity after
19- 22 days almost 85% eggs will be hatched and it could be
sold as 1 day chick or after regular vaccination it’ll be sold as 30
days chick.

Planning to manage potential problems or issues in the action
plan
Problem 1:- Convincing parents to help me economically:
It’s hard to convince parents for money as they’re not aware
of it. When I ask money there’s a possibility of ignoring ,so I
decided to explain them clearly and I said them that it’s more
like a business but in small scale, and I also said that there’s a
possibility of getting back money more than the investment.
Problem 2:- Failing to satisfy customer problem:
Things can get really hard when customer asks a large
quantity of chicks as we have planned of a incubator with
capacity 200 eggs . Though we have 200 egg capacity finally we
could get a remaining of 180 eggs including deaths. So there’s a
possibility of failing to satisfy customer needs.
Problem 3:- Marketing chicks:
This can be a hardest part in the whole process. This whole
project is trusting a single potential customer, but still if he
failed to buy we would get stumbled.

Using enterprise skills to implement the plan
Sustaining risk:
Considering the pros and cons of both the
project we decided to go with the 2nd project , though
It has so many risk we chose that because if we suppress the
risk we would be highly benefited. I made sure to bring into
account how they would affect operations of the enterprise
and the potential results I would receive to choose the risk
worth taking.
Leadership:
My teammates were capable of executing the
business but none had leadership ability to lead the team which
urged me to dominate the team . I was insecure about my
leadership skills but when i got the right opportunity i came to
know about my potential.
Hardwork:
Egg incubation requires a lot of caring which was the
major reason why we started to hardwork and explored what
we we’re capable of.
Time management :
The business is a live animal related
business, so it requires a proper time allocation and a proper
care. Which taught me the value of time and improved the time
management skill
Punctuality:
We’ve to provide the chicks proper food and water
frequently at frequent intervals. Not providing food an water at
specified time can cause damage to it.
Problem solving:
I had to face so many problems like egg
infertility, Early maturation of chicks, less immune of chicks,
Early death of chick inside egg. These problems can be solved
easily by checking eggs before buying.
Negotiation:
My negotiation skill helped to raise the normal
chick price to bit more raised amount. And also my negotiation
skill helped me to borrow money from my parents.
Plan For Negotiation:
The situation
● To buy raw materials for the enterprise, I need a capital of
Rs.500. ● I need fabric paint to paint the customizations on the
face masks, but the paint I need is not available in the local
store, so I request my mother buy it from the city. ● I also want
to ask permission to stop doing house chores for a couple of
days, so I will get time to finish all my orders.
Benefit and drawbacks of accepting my proposal
Benefits:
● My mother wants me to be an entrepreneur. ● She wants me
to be successful in my business. ● She wants me to achieve a
good grade in my enterprise coursework.
● My mother wants me to be creative and she is also interested
in art and she supports me.
Drawbacks:
● It will be expensive for her. ● She may lose your investment if
my business is not successful. ● My mother was recently ill, so
it might be tiring for her to travel to the city. ● It will be time
consuming for my mother if I do not help her with the
household chores.
Outcome of negotiation
I will receive the Rs.500 and my mother will buy the paint
supplies from the city. I have permission to complete my
customers orders instead of houldhold chores
