A walk through the farm
One hot, sunny day, I walked slowly through the farm with my dog, Spot. Despite the heat,
Spot kept running and jumping ahead. Every now and then, he would spy a mouse in the grass
and carefully move towards it, jumping at the last minute. But the clever, little mouse would
lightly run away. Spot would get frustrated and bang his paws on the ground. I looked up and
saw the birds flying high in the sky. In the meadow, I could see a newborn foal with its mother.
The young horse clumsily moved around the field with its long spindly legs. I watched the other
animals going about their business. The farmer’s cat was moving smoothly and quietly along
the wall. The cockerel was walking proudly around the farmyard. I smiled as I saw the farmer’s
favourite pig relaxing in the mud. On such a sweltering day, I felt like joining him.
