HAND WRITTEN "We drew fluids around your scars, but now it is clear and bleeding; without us, your doctor is a duck: quack! quack!" I believe that behind every illness there is a good Medical Laboratory Scientist. “Without laboratories, men of science are soldiers without arms” (Louis Pasteur, 1923). Most of the diseases that humans are battling exist through the blood and the internal factors themselves. That is why “Medical Technologists” should be appreciated and not be humiliated. “Taga, kuha lang ng tae, ihi, at dugo yan”, hello? We’re more than that! Our job is one of the most complicated and underrated jobs there is. In my catchy phrase "We drew fluids around your scars, but now it is clear and bleeding” this shows that we are the one who prioritizes collecting different bodily fluids in the human body such as blood, feces, urine, and, etc. The word “clear” signifies that examining your samples will give you a clear result if you are positive or negative for a certain disease. The word “bleeding” is a metamorphic word meaning to feel pain and sacrifice one's blood. In simple terms, they extract blood, examine it, and give the last verdict as if they are the judge in the court. The last one is “Without us, your doctor is A Duck: quack! quack!" “Behind every doctor is a great Medical Technologist” – Anonymous. Yes! a MedTech! Of course, a doctor cannot detect if a person is suffering from a virus, fungi, bacteria, parasite, and other microorganisms that invade the body without the aid of a laboratory. How can a doctor prescribe his or her patient medicine without proper knowledge of what is the patient’s condition? Then if he does then that doctor must be guessing and speculating. That is why when we go to hospitals the doctor would check on us, but they will wait for the lab results. As a student or rather as “patient”, we should appreciate our RMTs because we are not the only one who is bleeding, they bleed more as much as we do so let’s be kind!
