When receiving a cash payment, we must consider safety and security precautions: Check the banknotes you receive are genuine as fake notes may be used. Store excess cash in a safe during the day, leaving only the amount you need to operate in the till (cash register). Deposit your excess money in the bank at the end of every day, so that only small amounts of cash are kept on the business premises. When depositing cash at a bank (known as banking cash), make sure you vary the time and route that you take, so potential thieves cannot predict your movements.
