Critical Thinking Question 3.1 To encourage critical thinking within a group I am leading, I would take a large sheet of paper and have everyone contribute any ideas or suggestions they may have to present to the group. Some Pros would be that there would be a mix of different thoughts, ideas, and suggestions, while everyone gets to have a say in the meeting. Some Cons would be that there would be much time wasted having to get through numerous ideas, with much bickering going on, as to who is “right” and who is “wrong”. Critical Thinking Questions 3.2 At my job, I am constantly withdrawn and choose not to express or voice my disagreements with any other fellow managers. I feel like my ideas are not “good enough” or “outside the box”, when sometimes, they really are good ideas. I think what motivates me from expressing my objections is that I am afraid of ridicule or negative criticism from my fellow peers or my boss. If I was the leader, I would try to get everyone to put their ideas randomly on a chart, and from there, we could discuss which idea could work and why. Critical Thinking Questions 3.3 Some options would be to take surveys, or have a supervisor observe the class and critique what teaching styles could be used to make the class more effective. I think using the data from the surveys could provide some insight as to if the class is worthwhile or if not, is there any room for an immediate fix that could save the class and the instructor. I would say if there was any ideas on how to help keep the class, or if not, if we could talk to someone much higher, such as the Dean or Chancellor, about the situation.
