III.
Introduction
Prompted by the concern in levelling up the Institute of Education to Level 4
Accreditation of the BSED Program and future evaluation of its other programs, the
department seeks opportunities to meet the requirements of different accrediting
agencies, hence, proposes to benchmark with other universities offering similar
programs. This is a key strategy to the colleges to work in terms of sharing good
practices, improve academic practices, and achieve effectiveness on the curricular
offerings.
IV.
Objectives
 To discuss further the areas of cooperation mutually agreed upon by the parties
 To observe/explore on the best practices of the universities and share the IED’s best
course of action/best approaches for its programs
 To develop mutual trust and friendship with fellow workers in the academe
including the top officials of the concerned universities
V.
Methods
Selected faculty members of the Institute of Education will personally visit these
two universities and meet with the officials. This will enable the parties to discuss
related concerns about teacher education programs being offered in the three
institutions. Each team may arrive to a conclusive agreement by facilitating oral
discussions on their respective concerns. This is also a good opportunity to see in
actual the facilities and buildings of these universities
VI.
Expected outcomes
 Enable a mindset and culture of continuous improvement
 Set performance expectations
 Drill down into performance gaps to identify areas for improvement
 Gain an independent perspective about how well you perform compared to other
institution
 Develop a standardized set of processes and metrics
