When it comes to the topic of whether or not politicians should get involved in educational issues, there
are no conflicting viewpoints. There is a widespread agreement that, in an ideal world, they should not,
but in reality, such exclusion is impossible given the laws that they pass on funding. The provision of
educational opportunities is an essential component of any administration. It is inevitable that such
authorities will want to influence what educators pass on to pupils in the classroom, either for merely
selfish purposes or sometimes as a matter of public policy. This can happen for a variety of reasons,
including but not limited to: Nevertheless, the interests of the public should always take precedence,
and a significant component of the public is the student body. This intervention can be justified on a
variety of grounds, but that does not change the fact that the public's interests should always come first.
It is prudent to provide educators with information regarding proposed policies prior to their
implementation so that they may evaluate the impact those policies will have on the pupils.
