Daily - Opening M T W TH F Put away adult personal items out of child reach Mix bleach water, refil all cleaning bottles - store all chemicals out of child reach Unstack all chairs, place appropriately and set up room (no stacked chairs w/ children) Scan room for safety issues, resolve issues (outlets covered, equip good repair, etc ) Room is generally clean and organized. Wash laundry, dry, put away (bedding twice a week, other soft items bi-weekly) M T W TH F Clean and sanitize handles, door knobs, mirrors Clean chairs and table legs Check that first aid kit is fully stocked, easily accessible adults only, and its location in the room is clearly marked for anyone to see. (The kit goes where the class goes.) phone numbers including child abuse and neglect reporting as well as Emergency the poison control center are posted clearly where the adults can see them with instructions about how to dial out. Internal phone numbers/extensions are also posted. A current list of individual child allergies and medications is posted in the classroom and anywhere food is prepared/served. Prescription medications are within usage date, have complete and propper labeling, kept at the recommended tempature, and are stored out of reach of children (and separate from food) in a locked container. Over-the-counter meds are accompanied by clear written instructions from the health care provider. Declutter Check windows, window coverings, screens, cords for good and safe conditions (windows accessible by children open less than 4 inches or have guards) Monthly - Throughout(Note the date the task was completed.) Clean and sanitize shelving, including cubbies, behind and under things, etc. Clean window ledges, corners, and hard to reach places Clean large equipment, toys, etc. Check equipment throughly for safe conditions and in good repair (check for broken toys, accessories, frayed or very soiled rugs/carpet, items with sharp edges/cracks, etc) Remove, repair, and/or request replacement for unsafe, worn, or broken equipment Update, rotate, and/or add to the child items in at least one area based on child interest or to create interest Make sure heavy toys are placed on lowest shelf and there are no tipping hazards Make sure cleaning solution bottles are clearly labeled Plastic bags, matches, candles, lighters are stored out of children's reach No latex balloons in room or on site add/delete Please indicate below the person or persons responsible as well as when and what parts they are responsible for completing.
