Preliminaries:
Review key points on information literacy from the previous lesson. State
the objectives of today’s lesson.
Teacher’s Reminders:
Hello! This lesson will be done in the form of discussion/instruction. I will be
guiding you on how to accomplish the given task and I will discuss the topic
smoothly, so you can be with me always. Be ready to prepare your Pen before
the start of the discussion and remember that your answers will be collected
and or you can send it through messenger or Gmail if available, if not just
submit it to the retrieving team of our school.

lesson

Students will answer the following questions:
1. How do you usually get information?
2. What kinds of information get your interest?
3. How do you interpret information?
4. How do you use information that you know?
Establishing a niche in the lesson is necessary. As such, the first thing that
learners have to answer these questions:
1. What is the difference between animals and humans when it comes to
processing information?
2 to 3 students will answer the question.
Activity 1: Whole Class Discussion
The teacher will discussed the following topics:
1. The importance of Information
2. Six indicators of information literacy
A. Determine whether the statement is a claim of fact, value, or policy. Write
Fact, Value, or Policy.
F. Finding practical application of
concepts and skills in daily living
1. Fifty percent of our national budget should go to environmental protection.
2. Filipino youth today are more politically-inclined than those in the 19th
century.
3. The old times without communication technology made the Filipino family
closer.
4. Death is inevitable

A. The teacher will post a question to the class and will call at least three (3)
students to answer.

1. Discuss with your group about your new learnings. You are now going to
write an example of Claim of Fact, Policy and Value but with the observation of
using modal verbs, nouns and adverbs. (Subject integration within curriculum
English 8, MELC 3: Used modal verbs, nouns, and adverbs.)

2. Once that they are done doing the activity, the teacher will call some
volunteers to share their answers.

1. In this activity, you will be grouped according to your residency/barangay.
2. You will be given a Pointer/topic which is a present issue in your barangay
and your task is to formulate a Claim of Fact, Claim of Value, and a Claim of
Policy.
