Contraindications/Precautions Allergy to bile salts, hepatic impairment, calcified stones, radiopaque stones, or radiolucent bile pigment stones. Use cautiously with lactation. Interactions Aluminum-containing antacids, birth control pills, cholesterol medications, estrogen. Medication Administration Tablet and suspension Nursing Interventions Assess for suitability of ursodiol therapy. give the drug in two to three divided doses. do not administer with aluminumbased antacids.
