Principal • School Principals play integral roles in making schools function smoothly. • They are involved in all aspects of the school's operation. • They are the leaders responsible in providing leadership in the development and implementation of all educational programs and projects in the school • Republic Act No. 9155, Chapter 1 Section No. 7, Letter E, Paragraph 3 states that consistent with the national educational policies, plans and standards, the school heads shall have the Authority, Responsibility and Accountability (AuRA) in managing all affairs of the school. Thus, the success and failure of the school depends on the kind of school principal it has. Assistant Principal ◦ Assistant principals deal with the issues of school management, student activities and services, community relations, personnel, and curriculum instruction. ◦ They coordinate with principals and board members to assist in defining and enforcing school policies and guidelines for students, staff, and faculty Assistant Principal ◦ Strong organizational skills ◦ Attention to detail ◦ A desire to help students succeed ◦ Trustworthiness ◦ Diplomacy ◦ Effective communicator. ◦ Familiar with technology ◦ The desire to be active and visible Teacher • The primary role of a teacher is to deliver classroom instruction that helps students learn. • There is almost no limit to the roles a teachers may play. Teacher as a Third Parents • Teachers are such a big part of their students lives; many develop almost parental relationship with them. Teacher as Intermediaries • Teacher are only one part of a larger equation. And teaching demands almost daily communication with families. Teacher as Advocates A teacher's role is ever-changing. And a responsive teacher counsels their students to use the knowledge they learn in school to become valuable members of a society. Role of Parents Parents have been known to be a child's first teacher from the moment a child is born and as they mature into adults, the traditional role of parents involve teaching, guiding, and raising children to become strong standing members of their communities. Parents Schools alone cannot address all of a child's developmental needs: The meaningful involvement of parents and support from the community are essential.
