When the IX Series image-based laser sensor cannot be found automatically using this method, please perform the following steps to allow connection to IX-Navigator. 1 Allow IX-Navigator through Windows Firewall. This step will enable connection in most cases. Please check connection capability after this step. 2 Configure a static IP Address for the ethernet connection on the PC. 3 Disable all wireless internet connections. 4 Force the sensor into a BOOTP state using the networking reset button. The above steps are detailed below: IX-Navigator 1 Connection Guide Allow IX-Navigator through Windows Firewall. When using Windows 10, you can allow software through Windows Firewall using the below instructions. a. BOOTP mode is the default networking state of the IX Series image-based laser sensor. By default, the IX does not have an IP Address and is waiting for the PC to assign it an IP Address. By forcing the sensor into BOOTP mode, the IX will get rid of its IP Address. This is helpful if there is an IP Address assigned to the sensor that is not compatible with the networking settings of the PC. When using the IX-1000 or the IX-1050 model amplifiers, the networking reset button can be found in the below location on the amplifier: Initializing the network settings Insert a long and thin pin (1 to 2 mm in diameter) into the screw hole and press the IP reset switch for about 3 seconds while the power is on. STATUS indicator light Long and thin pin The STATUS indicator light will blink twice (orange) and then turn off. The network settings are initialized. *If connection still cannot be established after performing the above steps, there is likely a security program on the PC preventing connection. Please contact your IT department to allow IX-Navigator software through this security software. *If connection is not possible with any of the above steps, please try a different PC. *For any questions or for further troubleshooting, please call 1-888-Keyence Option #2 to contact our Technical Support team.
