First Aid Awareness Program
PLACE: Siddaganga Institute of Technology
DATE: 11-12th November 2021
NUMBER OF HOURS: 16 Hours
POINTS EARNED: 4 Points
VISION:
This activity aims to spread awareness and importance of first aid to help peoples during
emergency.
ABOUT THE ACTIVITY:
First aid is the first and immediate assistance given to any person with either a minor or
serious illness or injury,[1] with care provided to preserve life, prevent the condition from
worsening, or to promote recovery. It includes initial intervention in a serious condition prior to
professional
medical
help
being
available,
such
as
performing cardiopulmonary
resuscitation (CPR) while waiting for an ambulance, as well as the complete treatment of minor
conditions, such as applying a plaster to a cut. First aid is generally performed by someone with
basic medical training.
There are many situations that may require first aid, and many countries have legislation,
regulation, or guidance, which specifies a minimum level of first aid provision in certain
circumstances. First aid, however, does not necessarily require any particular equipment or
prior knowledge, and can involve improvisation with materials available at the time, often by
untrained people.
This was done by NSS volunteers SIT along with collaboration of Indian Red Cross society,
Tumkur Branch. The staff of Red Cross society taught us regarding to face or help the peoples
during emergency situations like heart attack, snake bite, accident, fire accident, bleeding etc.

Donors
PLACE: Tumkur
DATE: 2nd April to 5th June 2022
NUMBER OF HOURS: 120 Hours
POINTS EARNED: 30 Points
ABOUT THE ACTIVITY:
Water for voiceless
Animals and birds, just like human beings need water for their bodies to function. Lack of
drinking water will lead to various health issues and the animals and birds may even die. So, it
is important to make sure that the animals and birds get sufficient water.
With this thought Water For Voiceless (WFV) was set by Sunny Jain in Tumakuru in 2015 and
now it is spread across India. The WFV team till now has distributed over 45,000 water bowls
for free. WFV aims to streamline the process which is well underway in building network of
people across India so as to ensure that clean water is made available for drinking to all the
animals and birds around the domestic and wild.
54
So to support this cause we the students of Siddaganga Institute of Technology took the
opportunity given by AICTE and VTU joined hands with the WFV team. We joined WFV team and
took the water bowls and have kept in different places and we have placed them near our homes
also to provide water for animals and WFV team also sent us to Jayamangli forest near
Madhugiri to clean the water bowls which were kept before.
WFV team also work in providing timely help for the people who are in need of blood by
collecting the information of the blood donors across the tumkur city so that whenever any
patient who are in need of blood we can contact the donors easily for help.
