Scoring System
 21 Points per Set
- at 20 all, the side that gains 2 point lead first, wins
that set.
 30 Points per Set
 30 Straight Set (change sides at 15)
- at 29 all, the side scoring the 30th point, wins that
game.
A match is won by winning two out of three games.
In case there’s a 3rd set, players change sides when a
side scores 11 points.
Players
o Singles
- one player on a side
o Doubles
– two players on a side
o Mixed Doubles
– one male and one female partner
opposing a male and female opponent
Service
1. The server must keep both feet in
contact with the floor at the time of the
serve.
2. The bird must be positioned below the
waist.
3. The racket head must be below the
server’s wrist.
4. The server shall not serve unless the
receiver is ready; the opponent is seemed
ready if a return is attempted.
Service
5. Partners of the server and receiver may
stand anywhere on the court(RSC/LSC),
providing they do not obstruct the
opponent’s view.
6. A bird that touches the net on the serve,
and goes into the proper service court is
legal or good; the umpire called it “LET”
7. If the server misses the bird on
attempting to serve, it already counts as a
lost. It will be the opponent’s point.
Serving Order - Singles
a. The first serve of the game, when the
server’s score is an even number, are
made from the Right Service Court.
b. All serves, when the server’s score is
an odd number, are made from the Left
Service Court.
c. When a rally is lost, the receiving
player becomes the server.
Serving Order - Doubles
a. There is only one server in doubles.
b. At the beginning of the game, and when
the score is even, the server serves
from the RSC. When the score is odd,
the server serves from LSC.
c. If the serving side wins a rally, the
serving side scores a point, and the
same person serves again from the
alternate court.
Serving Order - Doubles
d. If the receiving side wins a rally, the
receiving side scores a point. The
receiving side becomes the new serving
side.
e. The player do not change their
respective side of courts until they win
a point. You only change sides of the
court, when your team has scored from
serving.
Game Rule
 The winners of the first game, serve
first in the next game.
 Birds falling in the lines are considered
good or inside.
 During rally, a bird that touches the
net and goes over is in play or still
playable.
Fault
a. On the service, any part of the racket
is higher than the server’s wrist and
contact is made above the waist.
b. The service fails to cross the net or go
into proper service court.
c. The feet of the server or the receiver
are not in the proper courts at time of
service.
Fault
d. The server hesitates or stops the service
motion or misses the bird.
e. The improper receiver returns the bird on
the serve.
f. A bird hit into the net, under the net,
against the wall or ceiling is out-of-bounds
or outside.
g. A player hits the bird before it crosses
the net.
h. The bird touches the player or the
player’s cloth.
Fault
i. The player touches the net while the
bird is in play.
j. The bird is hit twice in succession by
one or both partners in a side.
k. The bird is held, caught or carried on
the racket when struck.
l. A player obstructs an opponent.
LET
A play allowed to be replayed if:
a. The bird becomes caught in or on the net
after passing over the net.
b. There is a phenomena to distract the on
going game.
c. The following situations occur:
1. correct server serves from the wrong
court
2. wrong server serves from either the
correct/ incorrect court
3.correct receiver receives in the wrong
court
