Activity Title:
Activity Description:
“ MENTORING THE MENTORS IN MUSIC AND ARTS”
This Four-Day webinar is an initial activity of a mentoring program
designed to assist and capacitate MAPEH Teachers with the
knowledge and skills in teaching the “Hard to Teach” most essential
learning competencies in Music and Arts component in MAPEH
subject. Furthermore, facilitators of this webinar are teachers who
are considered “experts” in the field of Music and Arts.

Rationale:
“A teacher imparts knowledge, good values, tradition, modern-day challenges and ways to resolve them within
students. A good teacher is an asset to the students.”(Sikruti Sen,2019;Diverse Roles of a Teacher) with this, we can say
that as an educator, one must also continue to learn. In the teaching fields, especially in MAPEH, a teacher is set out to
teach 4 components; Music, Arts, Physical Education and Health. It is not a secret to all that a teacher in this area has
limits and are not masters of all the components of the subject being taught.
With this, it is essential that as educators, the MAPEH teachers be reviewed, if not refreshed of the basics of the
said subject. To address the aforementioned issue, we have come up with a program designed to assist and capacitate
MAPEH Teachers with the knowledge and skills in teaching the “Hard to Teach” most essential learning competencies in
Music and Arts components in MAPEH subject.
Objectives:
By the end of the activity, the participants are expected to:
a. Identify “ hard to teach” most essential learning competencies in Music and Arts components
in MAPEH both in the elementary and secondary curriculum;
b. Enhance teachers knowledge and skills on these “hard to teach” competencies ;
c. Develop teachers’ competence in teaching these competencies ; and
d. Benefit from one’s knowledge through a helping relationship among MAPEH Teachers.
