1. How many times can 8 be divided by 9? Write your answer on top of the 8 in the first line.
2. Multiply 0 with 9 and write your answer under the "8" in the first line
3. Subtract answer to step 2 (0) from 8
4. Bring the digit next to 8 (the 6) down and place next to the 8
5. How many times can 86 be divided by 9? Write your answer on top of the 6 in the first line.
6. Multiply your answer to No. 5 with 9, and write your answer below "86"
7. Subtract 81 from 86 and write the answer under "81"
8. Now bring the "4" from the top down and place it next to the 5
9. Divide 54 by 9 and write your answer above the "4" in the first line
10. Multiply the answer to No. 9 (the 6) with 9, and write your answer under "54"
11. Subtract 54 from 54, and write your answer just underneath it.
12. If there was another number next to the "4" in the first line, you would bring it down and start with
Division again. You will continue with the Divide/Multiply/Subtract/Bring Down until there are no
more numbers to bring down
1. How many times can 4 be divided by 2? Write your answer on top of the 4 in the first line.
2. Multiply 2 with 2 and write your answer under the "4" in the first line
3. Subtract answer to step 2 (0) from 4
4. Bring the digit next to 4 (the 2) down and place next to the 0
5. How many times can 2 be divided by 2? Write your answer on top of the 2 in the first line.
6. Multiply your answer to No. 5 with 2, and write your answer below "02"
7. Subtract 2 from 2 and write the answer under the 2
8. Now bring the "6" from the top down and place it next to the 0
9. Divide 6 by 2 and write your answer above the "6" in the first line
10. Multiply the answer to No. 9 (the 3) with 2, and write your answer under "6"
11. Subtract 6 from 6, and write your answer just underneath it.
12. If there was another number next to the "6" in the first line, you would bring it down and start with
Division again. Continue following the recipe until there are no more numbers to bring down
