Republic of the Philippines Department of Education REGION V - BICOL SCHOOLS DIVISION OFFICE OF ALBAY OAS NORTH DISTRICT NARRATIVE REPORT ON THE CONDUCT OF DISTRIL ROLLOUT ON THE IMPLEMENTATION OF SPORTS CLUB AND SPORTS SKILLS (ARNIS) Sports is one way not only to show the skills and talents but also develop the spirit of sportsmanship and camaraderie among individuals. Last March, 10-11, 2022, the Oas North District conducted a face-to-face roll-out on the implementation of Sports Club and Sports Skills following the minimum health protocol set by the IATF. The purpose of this activity is to provide every school appropriate knowledge and competencies in demonstrating the different sports skills based on the performance indications in the sports manual, organize a sports club in every school and establish team work and rapport to participants of the training. The venue of the Arnis and & Sports club is a t the Oas North Central School Covered court. The training for arnis is headed by Sir Hart Reblora of Tobgon ES, Ma’am Marilen Ablong of Bogtong ES, Sir Antonio Rengalota of Badian ES, Sir Carlito Suarez Jr. of Bangiawon ES and Ma’am Liena Ranara of Tobgon ES. An opening program was led by the energetic school head of Bogton ES, Ma’am Marilen Ablong followed by the acknowlegement of the participants using the highest gestured respect in the Filipino Martial Arts community which is the “Pugay”. The participants were divided into 3 groups – the Matibayon Group, Padayon Group, and the Masigasig Group. Each group composed a yell to start and after every key stages, the group will submit their outputs in the link sent the group chat. Master Hart Reblora discussed overview of arnis and the Key Stage 1 with demonstration immediately proceed to the practicum and video rehearsals. In the afternoon, Sir Ed Morillo, the Division Sports Coordinator share his knowledge on the importance of sports not only to pupils but also to us teachers. On the second day of the activity, everyone brought a cane for the next stage. There was also an election of Arnis Sports Club Officer. Sir Alvin Capistrano was elected as President, Ma’am Ilonah Jran Trilles as Vice President, Ma’am Jessica Riparip as Secretary and Ma’am Jenny Raton as Treasurer. There was also a video presentation showing the outputs sent by each group. The final part of the activity is the awarding ceremony wherein all active participants were given a certificate. Sir Carlito Suarez Jr. also gave his closing remarks. The 2-day district activity was really a success with the great help and support of the District Sports Coordinator, Sir Erwin Ranara and sports club facilitator. We can say that different sports can now be also implemented in our schools. We will apply what we had learned in this activity to our pupils, enhance their physical and mental abilities, stay fit and healthy and maybe help them best athlete in world. Engaging ourselves in sports means a positive recreation. Lets make our pupils busy with sports that will lead to mastering skills , joyful experiences, learning ethics, discipline and leadership. “No to gadgets, Yes to sports.” Prepared by: JESSICA R.
