Introduction
Over the next 12 weeks you will be assessed on all 17 modules of the training rooms strength and
conditioning course. The modules have been broken down into 2-week blocks and your tutor will
send the assessments out to you in a consistent order.

Assessments will consist of worksheet questions with set marks to obtain
Information can be found on the 17 PowerPoint Modules sent to you by the training room
Students need to read and listen to PowerPoint narrations in order to understand the
module
Once student has read and listened to PowerPoints, they can then answer the worksheet
questions
Learners will only be sent next set of module information and assessment once previous
work has been completed
For example, modules 1/2/3/4 must be fully complete before modules 5/6/7 can be sent
Students have 2 weeks to read, listen through information and submit biweekly assessment
to tutor

There are 76 marks available in this task. You must score a minimum of 56 marks in
total to achieve a pass. In addition to achieving the total pass mark, you must also
score at least the minimum marks set for each question to achieve an overall pass.
1. Name 2 qualities required by a strength and conditioning coach and explain why a coach
must possess these traits?
Strong verbal & non-verbal communication – Qualities such as this are important to build
trust between you and the athlete, being able to confidently communicate and engage with
your client is the first step in convincing them you’re taking them in the right direction.
Planning, preparation and commitment – The quality to periodically and methodically plan
an athlete’s journey can be the difference between second and first place. Having a
commitment to getting the best out of a client in the long term can not only bring out their
strengths, but also prevent injury and fatigue, keeping them at the top for longer.

5. Explain the role a nutritionist may play in an athlete’s development?
A nutritionist is responsible for essentially fuelling the athlete. The right nutritional
information and guidance will improve performance in their respective field, whether that
be strength in the gym or stamina on the track. Also aiding in recovery, a nutritionist will
provide the building blocks to ensure an athlete is meeting the necessary vitamin &
mineral requirements etc. to fight fatigue, DOMS, and injury and boost overall wellbeing.
And finally, proper nutritional guidance will aid in overall body composition which can
pertain to a competing bodybuilders goal.
