Visiting the Movies by J.Langan revised by ME I am a movie buff. When friends want to know which film won the Academy Award in 2001, they come to me. When folks ask who voiced Optimus Prime in Transformers, I tell them I was the one. My friends, on the other hand, have ceased asking if I want to go to the movies. Because of the hassle of going out, the temptations of the concession stand, and the behavior of some patrons, I find it more delightful to wait for a movie to be released on Netflix. To begin with, simply getting to the theater is challenging. On a cold or rainy night, leaving a home with an HDTV and surround sound isn't appealing. Even if the weather is nice, there is the trouble of finding a parking spot and dealing with the lineups. You may also be concerned about whether you and your pals will be able to acquire all of your seats together. Although none of these obstacles are insurmountable, being seated on your sofa is considerably easier. Second, the cinema provides enticing snacks that I do not require. I can manage myself at home since there is no ice cream in the freezer, no soda in the fridge, and most of my snacks are healthy, such as fruits, nuts, and juices. Even if I merely get a Diet Coke at the movies, the aroma of fresh popcorn oozing with butter eventually overpowers me. What about the cheese nachos, as well as the Snickers and M&Ms? I'd be better off if I didn't have to deal with all those temptations. Finally, some of the other customers are a bigger issue than the concession stand. Little children scurry up and down the aisles, making a racket. Teenagers strive to impress their peers by imitating the actors on screen or otherwise embarrassing themselves. Some grownups aren't much better, making loud comments that betray plot Source: PSY-225_FiveParagraphTheme_Examples (wisc.edu) twists that are supposed to be kept hidden until the end of the film. What am I doing here, I question myself. I decided I'd had enough after returning home from the movies one night. I was no longer going to the movies. I was fed up with the hassles of getting to the theater, avoiding bad snacks, and interacting with the audience. I obtained a Netflix membership the next day and had premium movie channels added to my cable TV package the next day. I may now see movies a bit later than other people, but I’ll be more relaxed watching box office successes in the comfort of my living room. Source: PSY-225_FiveParagraphTheme_Examples (wisc.edu)
