AccordingtotheBillofRightsofthePhilippineConstitutionof1987,everyFilipinohas therighttoeducation.AccordingtoArticleXIV,Section1oftheaforementioned PhilippineBillofRights,thestateshallsafeguardandpromoteallcitizens'rightto qualityeducationatalllevels,andshalltakereasonablestepstomakesucheducation availabletoeveryone.Thislawisbuiltonthepremisethateducationwillalwaysbea partofyourbasicrightasaFilipinocitizen,regardlessofraceorsocialstatus,no matterhowexpensiveoraffordableitmaybe.Theexistingeducationsystem caters onlytothosewhohaveaccesstolearningmaterialsbecauseitisbuiltonWestern curriculum.Havingsaidthat,educationinthePhilippinesisalsocommercialized becausethecurriculum complieswithglobalizationnormsbutfailstoaddressthe immediaterequirementsofkidsinthecommunities.
