A short description and recommendation of some of
the various factory and field installations is given.
Please note that the information, codes bundle
numbers are given for reference only, the current
price list must be the only official ordering
document.
Where factory installation codes or field installation
bundle numbers were not available, they will be made
available as soon as possible.
1 Drive System
1.1 FRONT PTO
Modern tractor application requires more and more
front driven implements. To satisfy these demands
John Deere provides front PTOs for 6020 Series
tractors for field installation. By following the modular
concept, these field kits furnish John Deere tractors
perfectly for front driven applications like mowing,
snow blowing or shredding. The housing design
matches exactly to the front support and enables a
comfortable field installation. When not in use, the
driveline can be mechanically disconnected by a
separate lever to save fuel and prevent power loss. The
accustomed John Deere standards in terms of quality,
reliability and service are provided by following
characteristics:
• A more horizontal shaft alignment optimizes the
power train from engine to PTO.
• The heavy duty transmission is able to transmit
100% of the engine power.
• Oil cooled multi disc clutch provides a smooth
engagement.
• A separate oil cooler provides a reliable
application under all climatic conditions.
• Independent hydraulic system for lubrication and
clutch engagement contributes to a high reliability.
The rated PTO speed of 1000 rpm will be achieved at
95 % of rated engine speed. Thus, a synchronized
operation with rear PTO driven implements is possible.

2 HYDRAULICS
2.1 MECHANICALLY-ACTUATED
SELECTIVE CONTROL VALVES M-SCV
300 and 301 Series M-SCVs can basically be used in
all positions, but if possible they should be installed on
the left hand side (M-SCV at pos. 1 or 2). When
installing them on the right hand side (M-SCV at pos.
3 or 4), an additional parts kit is necessary.
M-SCV Identification
• 100 or 101 Series (Standard): mechanically
actuated, with fixed cap
• 200 or 201 Series (DeLuxe): mechanically
actuated, with three operating positions
• 300 or 301 Series (Super DeLuxe): mechanically
actuated, with three operating positions
100 Series M-SCV
The M-SCVs provide a full range of features which
gives the flexibility to operate all hydraulic equipment
on the farm. The M-SCVs are located at the rear of the
tractor, at either side of the hitch valve. ISO scs are
mounted to each M-SCV.
Three different M-SCV versions are available:
100 resp. 101 Series, 200 resp. 201 Series or 300 resp.
301 Series.
100, 200 and 300 Series M-SCVs can only be used
with PFC hydraulic system with axial piston pump.
101, 201 and 301 Series M-SCVs can only be used
with PC or HydraVantage hydraulic systems with
gear pump.
This valve features:
• A 4 position lever control that is detented as
standard
• Flow of up to 60 l/min is available through the
valve
• Removable detent collar
• 4-way operation
• Automatic detent release (if detent is fitted) when
the engine is switched off.

In addition to all the features of 200 Series M-SCVs,
300 Series M-SCVs incorporate a temperature
compensated adjustable flow restrictor which
continuously regulates the flow of oil between zero
and maximum in both directions regardless of oil
temperature.
This will give day-long constant speed operation of
hydraulic motors and rams without the need for
adjustment.
Selectable detents allow the operator to choose the
same modes as the 200 Series M-SCVs, and in
addition a hydraulic detent, where the M-SCV lever
will remain selected until a pre-set pressure is reached.
It will then ’kickout’ of the detent to the neutral
position automatically. This mode is particularly useful
when repeat M-SCV operations are performed, such as
turning a plough or drill marker cycling.

corresponding quick couplers and dust protection. The

2.2 M-ICV AND E-ICV
Mechanical Independent Control Valve
(M-ICV) - 2 section
The M-ICV (mechanical independent control valve) is
a separate control valve block unite mounted below the
right hand side of the cab. It is fitted below the cab and
supplied with hydraulic power through the Power
Beyond valve or ICV-Cover.
It is ideal for single lever control of front loader or
front hitch work.
The valve features functions similar to that of two
SCVs.
• 1st function features: extend neutral retract and a
detented float position
• 2nd function: extend neutral retract
• The M-ICV is not detented for hydraulic motors
• Both functions feature a flow capacity of 96 l/min.
at stand-by pressure and proportional flow
• When a 96 l/min pump is fitted, maximum flow
capacity can be achieved with reduced engine rpm
for more comfortable operation
• More than one function may be operated
simultaneously to speed up operations and save
time
• Proportional valves give fine adjustment for
inching and operation acceleration/deceleration
during long travel movements
• A balance valve between the two functions ensures
that both may be operated at once, ensuring
professional operation capability, for example
raise boom and roll back bucket

Spool movement is no longer achieved mechanically,
but electrically through stepper motors (similar to the
precise, reliable and proven stepper motor rear hitch
control).
Valve Functions
All 3 valves feature proportional flow and a flow
capacity of 96 l/min. at stand-by pressure.
Lever movements are transformed into electric
impulses inducing - if required - minute movements
for precise stacking or loading operations
• This unique fine adjustment allows inching
operation or acceleration/ deceleration during
longer piston travel movements
• Up to three functions may be operated
simultaneously to speed up manoeuvres while
ensuring professional, parallel operation capability
• The selectable shake-out position permits
optimum bucket cleaning through automatic
vibration mode when overriding the position for
max. dump speed
• Allows pre-compaction during back blading in
float position
*Only when the three SCVs option is chosen,
automatically the option for the fourth and fifth SCVs
is provided.

2.3 ELECTRICALLY-ACTUATED
SELECTIVE CONTROL VALVE E-SCV
The electrically-actuated SCVs with adjustable flow
rates and timed detents are exclusively available for
the 6020 Series John Deere Premium Plus cab models .
A programmable electronic controller controls SCV
functions via a solenoid in each valve. The valve has
no direct control linkage. Out of this result the
following advantages:
• Eases operator effort, reducing shift forces and
fatigue in repetitive operations.
• Reduced wear of parts and lower maintenance
costs.
SCV controls are located in the Command ArmTm for
easier operation. Valve can easily be re-programmed
from the operator’s seat for different implements or
variable conditions. Information on valve status is
displayed on the LCD display, located on the center
dashboard unit.
E-SCVs
The E-SCV field installation kit contains in addition to
the E-SCV parts as well the needed actuating
components for installation in the operator’s station.

Additional oil reservoir 14 litres
Additional oil reservoir 12,5 litres
An additional hydraulic oil tank is available to increase
the hydraulic oil capacity with 12,5 litres (from 25 to
37,5 litres max. permissible oil withdrawal for short
term use (e.g. tipping trailers), while allowing the
tractor to run on inclines up to 18 degrees). This
reservoir mounts above the main hydraulic pump,
under the cab.
For applications which need more than 12,5 litres
additional hydraulic oil, John Deere offers a hydraulic
oil reservoir with 14 litres to increase the whithdrawal
capacity of your hydraulic system.

Fuel pre filters
Provide higher water and dirt protection to the fuel
system of your tractor. Bad fuel quality requires best
filtration. For this purpose pre filters can provide extra
filtration. Therefore, John Deere offers several pre
filter kits which provide:
• pre filtration of dust and particles to support the
main fuel filter
• separation of water to protect the fuel injection
pump and engine
The pre filter kits are mounted additionally to the
ordinary fuel filter and are supplied with all mounting

The shape and size of the Single Lever Control
corresponds to the anatomy of the operator's hand. It
features two push buttons and one proportional control
toggle switch integrated in the grip to control up to 5
functions.
An integrated safety guard prevents unintentional
implement operation. Lever functions are only
transmitted, if the guard is tilted away by the gripping
hand. A toggle switch at the base of the lever allows
function to be disengaged when not in use, e.g. field
work, transport etc.
For optimum forearm ergonomics, lever position can
be adjusted through movement of its base in the
horizontal plane. To permit free entry/access via the
right-hand side door, it can further be swivelled
downwards - out of the way.
The maximum number of double acting control
valves in combination with Single Lever Control
increases to six.

Fender extension
For heavy duty work and bad weather conditions John
Deer offers a mud flap kit for 6020 Series tractors. The
mud flap provides an additional protection to avoid
dirt on your tractor and following vehicles. It is made
of rugged and flexible rubber, that bears up against
worst application conditions. The kit fits to all 6020
Series tractors with a 190 mm width fender extensions.

Track extension front and rear axle
The extended track and extra-wide vehicle lighting are
intended only for 6-cylinder tractors with a 335 mm
(13.19 inch) hole-circle diameter on front wheels and
with a 275 mm (10.83 inch) hole-circle diameter on
rear wheels.
In order to work as efficient as possible, progress in
row planting and the use of wider attachments demand
flexible track widths. To meet these demands John
Deere offers track extensions for 6020 Series 6cylinder tractor models.
With the help of the extended track, it is possible to
cover more rows at once and to ride within the rows
without affecting cultivations or banks. For sprayer
applications the new field installation kits provide
another advantage: the extended track of the tractor
allows a superior support and balance adjustment of
the sprayer.
Two different extensions are available:
• Extension 2 x 94 mm provides a track extension to
2000 mm. Depending on the overall tractor width,
additional lighting kits for extra-wide vehicles are
available.
• Extension 2 x 219 mm provides a track extension
to 2250 mm. Due to the resultant overall tractor
width the kit also includes extra-wide vehicle
lighting and a warning sign.

The pneumatic trailer brake system consists basically
of a two line system. This is the same as used today on
commercial vehicles.
Pre-braking function:
• short brake pedal travel allows braking of the
trailer without braking the tractor. This feature is
required to control the trailer and prevent jack
knifing.
• A quick release valve opens the trailer brake
immediately after release of the brake pedal for
better acceleration.
Single line systems for pneumatic trailer brakes are
available as well. These kits are supplementary to the
dual-line systems, they can not be used stand alone.
The dual-line system has to be installed first before the
single line system should be ordered.
The field kits below permit the tractor to be retro-fitted
with a pneumatic trailer brake system.

Additional storage container - 45l
Tool box
With a capacity of 45 l and a 45 kg maximum payload this
new sheet metal storage container offers additional space,
e.g. for rubber boots, oil cans, bulky tools, grease guns etc.
Equipped with 2 handles at the side it can easily be carried.
With the help of the included quick lock pin the container
can be closed rapidly.
The fastening on the back allows a quick installation to all
existing front weights: base weights, front weights and the
900 kg pick up weight.
An external detachable and lockable tool box with
convenient carrying handle is located in front of the
cab.
It has the capacity to hold tools and a selection of
linkage balls, hitch pins and linchpins for implement
attachment.

Changing the implement from trailer to three-point
hitch in the field and not knowing where to put the
upper trailer hitch.
John Deere now offers the solution - the hitch holder
for the upper wagon hitch. The holder is a convenient
solution that can easily be mounted within minutes
onto all kinds of front weights with coupling recess.
The wagon hitch can easily be affixed and is stored in
a convenient height you can reach without stooping.
The holder is adjusted with two fixing screws that
again can be adjusted in two widths depending on the
weight the holder has been mounted onto.

the Security door lock field installation kit. It features
