1.Can the vaccine be administered in the anterolateral thigh?
We currently do not have data on the alternative areas of administration.
However, based on basic immunization techniques, either anterolateral thigh
and deltoid are acceptable.
2. How about po administering those vaccines with arms covered with
tattoo?
Yes, you can administer the upper arm with tattoos. Find for the part where there
is no tattoo such as spaces.
3. Is it necessary for vaccinees to undergo screening (checking vitals
signs) before vaccination?
Thermal scanning is a must. Febrile individuals should not be vaccinated due to
possible spread of disease.
4. Would it be okay to use alcohol between patients without changing
the gloves?
No, it’s not a aseptic technique. Use different gloves for different patients. Using
glove is not a replacement for hand hygiene.
5. What is the maximum interval to give second dose of Sinovac
vaccine?
28 - 32 days (could prolong based on the health status of the vaccinee) from the
first dose based on the current data and guidelines of DOH. If close contact,
quarantine should be finished and be vaccinated right after being tagged as
recovered.
**Those without symptoms but COVID 19 positive should quarantine for 10 days
based on DM 2020-0512.
6. Is there a need to wear PPE during vaccination?
No, only facemask and face shield.
7. Can you give the vaccine for those patients who are in EPO
maintenance?
Medical clearance need to be secured especially for those who are
immunocompromised patients such as HIV and Cancer patients. This also
applies with people with rare diseases.

8. If the vaccinee exceeded the suggested interval for Second Dose, is it still
possible to be vaccinated when the delay is due to health reasons?
Yes. You can receive your vaccine as soon as available
9. Is it okay to administer second dose of Sinovac if the interval is more than
28 days?
Yes.
10. Is there new guidelines for 17y/o below to receive covid 19 vaccine?
As of now, there are still no guidelines from NITAG.
11. Examples of syringes with 5/8 inch needle.
You can change the needle with 5/8 inch needle rather than looking for a syringe with 5/8
needle.
12. Is it okay to be vaccinated with pfizer if you are already fully vaccinated
with sinovac?
--On the misadministration of vaccine: The second dose vaccine given is
different from the first dose, what should be the next action of the vaccination
team?
There is no guidelines on mix and match of covid-19 vaccine, and there is no data
regarding booster. Some studies in germany showed that mix and match of vaccines
showed higher incidence of adverse events.
--There should be no 3rd dose or fourth dose provided to them or booster since it will be
difficult to identify the booster to provide to them.
13. How long does Covid-19 vaccine protection last?
Studies are still being done on how long the COVID-19 vaccine protection lasts.
14. After taking sinovac or astra, how long should be the interval if other
vaccines like Rabies or tetanus toxoid is needed due to recent injury
Based on the DOH guidelines (DC 2021-0101) if the vaccinee has a category 3 animal
bite, anti rabies vaccine should be provided start/immediately.
14 days after the anti rabies vaccine before administering the COVID-19 vaccine.
15. Can patients on EPO injections be given with vaccine?
For those with ongoing EPO injections, they have their own attending physicians who
need to provide medical clearance. They can be vaccinated as long as they have stable
renal condition to be determined by the attending physician.

16. Can we proceed to vaccinate even without the presence of a
Doctor? Let us say we are from an Island Municipality 8 hours away
from Poblacion with no Doctor.
Based on the NVDP, doctor is a must since these are new vaccines and the list
of adverse reactions is not yet complete. This needs to be discussed with
RVOC/LVOC. NVOC has recognized that problem and we’re looking at the
responders. Other option is through telemedicine consult.
**Schedule the vaccination wherein there will be an available doctor.
17. This question is with regard to our OFWs who has received
Sinovac vaccines. Most of them have mentioned that countries from
Europe and the US will not acknowledge Sinovac, My question is, will
it be possible for them to be vaccinated again using another brand
such as AstraZeneca or Pfizer? If yes, how soon can they be
vaccinated from their last dose (Sinovac)? If no, what options can we
provide for these OFWs?
We should not be discriminating especially if these are all part of the EUA list.
The vaccinee needs to provide an official document issued by the Dept/Ministry
of Health of the country of destination. Furthermore, for all OFWs who are going
to be deployed within 4 months, they are now considered A1.8 as stated in the
IATF Resolution No. 117.
We have been requesting the Department of Foreign Affairs to furnish/inform the
NVOC if certain countries are requiring certain vaccines to facilitate entry.
18. If a person is already fully vaccinated with AstraZeneca, is it still
safe to receive Pfizer/Moderna? If yes, what is the interval
recommended between the two brands of vaccines? Thanks
There are still no guidelines on giving of different vaccine brand as well as on
the booster doses.
19. Is it okay to administer the second dose of Sinovac less than 28
days, if yes what is the minimum day from the first dose?
As per the EUA guidelines of Sinovac, minimum interval of 28 days because it’s
possible that it’s not as effective if it is to be given earlier than 28 days. Many
information about the vaccines are still ongoing investigations. The guidelines
are dependent on the EUA issued by the FDA PH. If there are new
developments, these are verified and studied by our experts who are members
of the NITAG and other concerned government agencies.
** In some areas they are trying to administer Sinovac at least 2 weeks.

20. Ask ko lng po if both upper arms po ng isang patient taking
anti-coagulant medication ay may backflow po. Do we still to continue
pa din po b ang vaccination nila or reschedule?
Rescheduling of the 2nd dose is dependent on the status of the vaccinee on the
day of the vaccination.
21. Regarding sa pag administer ng pfizer vaccine, what if po nag lock
ang 0.3 syringe can we still push the vaccine back to the vial? and can
we use 1ml syringe kasi kung nakulangan na po ng 0.3 syringe?
Thank you po
Based on NVOC Advisory No. 50 usage of the tuberculin syringe is possible but it is
recommended that we use the syringe bundled with our Pfizer syringe. However,
the probability of wastage (i.e. instead of 6 doses, 5 doses may be expected), is
high.
In case that the syringe already locked at 0.1 it can no longer be return in the vial
due to possible contamination.
22. Are PWD included in A3 category?
The state of having disability is not a disease. If our PWDs have comorbidities,
then they are included in our A3. If they are our senior citizens then they belong to
A2.
24. If a vaccinee experienced allergic reaction during sa 1st dose nya,
does this mean po na ibang brand ang i-administer for his/ her 2nd
dose?
Yes, the vaccinee needs to consult with an Allergologist and get clearance for 2nd
dose (another vaccine platform).
25. The patient receive first dose of Astrazeneca last march on her
second dose she is two months pregnant, when can she receive her
second dose?
Second dose can be given on the patient’s 2nd or 3rd Trimester of pregnancy.
26. Supposed that there is a delay of Second Dose of Astra for more
than 2 months because of repeated deferral any quarantine, Should
the patient be given the first dose again or continue with second dose
even if the delay took a long time.
No need to restart the vaccine series. Just give the 2nd dose the soonest possible
time.

27. May I know the minimum or maximum time to be given to
vaccinees who had their recent covid infection? Is it 14 days from the
