Activity 4.2 Preparation for lesson planning 1. One lesson activity that I feel worked well is syllabus reference 12.2.1 Acid-base titration, learning objective describe an acid-base titration to include the use of burette, volumetric pipette and suitable indicator. Why did you choose this activity? I choose this activity because I can see that students are enjoying the experiment. They want to find the final point and put it into stoichiometric calculation. How did it engage your learners? This activity engages the learners with question on finding the concentration of the acid being titrated. Students are challenged to do titration until they find the changing colour, each of them wanted to do the experiment themselves. How did it help develop their learning? With their independent learning, they are expected to construct the procedure by themselves and find the answer. 2. One activity that did not go as well as I expected is syllabus reference 3.3.7 The mole and the Avogadro constant, learning objective calculate empirical formulae and molecular formulae, given appropriate data. I would improve the lesson by starting example on calculating simple (2 elements) empirical molecule then gradually increase the number of elements. 3.
