Accomplishments "As each learning adventure begins, new achievements will emerge." Entering the area of teaching is already a significant achievement for me. This is a level that not all dreamers can achieve. Nothing, however, compares to the accomplishments I made during my first week of internship. I overcame all of the problems that I regard to be foreign to me. My students and I have already formed a bond. They regard me as one of their true educators. I recall the first time I introduced myself to them, and vice versa, they were both apprehensive and shy to stand in front of the group and identify themselves and explain what they couldn't imagine life without... That's how I get them to introduce themselves in a unique way. I stick postcards with words inscribed on them to the black board. "I can't imagine life without..." was the prompt, and they were in charge of coming up with a thing or word/s to finish the sentence. I was completely overwhelmed by their participation and attentiveness after that. Their willingness to learn alongside me motivates me to keep doing what I'm doing. For me, disinfection is also a major accomplishment. It is an honor for me to assist the faculty in keeping the classroom clean and safe from Covid-19. Before entering the classroom set-up, I once assigned in the triage area where students must first check their temperature, ask certain questions that were written in the declaration form, and be given mask and sanitizers. That’s all I have for this week, and I’m hoping to achieve even more in the coming term. Personal Commitment The first and most crucial step is to believe in yourself and your students. You need to alter your approach to discussing your strengths. Rather than declaring, “I can’t get through to this child,” or “I don’t know how to educate this child to succeed at this grade level,” ask, “What can I learn about this student’s abilities?” or “How can I introduce the curriculum to this student at his or her level?” “ You should also adjust the terms you use while discussing your kids’ talents. Rather than declaring, “This student can’t accomplish this grade-level task,” say, “This student can perform this part of the assignment,” and then hold him or her accountable to that expectation. To begin this procedure, you must first ask yourself the appropriate questions. “What can this student do?” “What skills does this student already have?” and “What level is this student now performing at?” are some of the questions I ask myself. “Once I’ve figured out the answers to these questions, I’ll be able to design classes or materials that will assist me satisfy my students’ requirements.” The following is an example of how I’ve used this knowledge to current curriculum to ensure that all of my pupils are meeting grade level objectives. I should have wanted to learn more about Find out more about what I do. I am well aware that I am not very good at public speaking, particularly in front of a group of kids. It’s one of my flaws, especially because we weren’t well prepared before entering the area of teaching. However, having experience in this profession has aided me in improving my speaking abilities. I believe in John Dewey’s Learning by Doing theory of learning. It’s a basic concept: if I execute the action, I’ll be able to learn more about my career. As a result, when this activity becomes a habit, it will shape my character, and character, in turn, will shape my destiny. It’s the same as stating “turning my flaws into strengths.” Significant Learning Since Covid-19 has hit us hard, and our education system is one of the most affected fields, our learnings are no longer sufficient for what was once considered traditional learning. Everything is extremely difficult for me as I enter the real world of teaching with insufficient skills. Because I’m not strong at speaking, it’s difficult for me to engage with my mentor, especially with my grade 10 kids (for the entire first shift). For me, the first day was torturous. The location, the people, and the work were all completely unfamiliar to me. I’m hesitant to ask my mentor what I need to do because she has an unapproachable demeanor. Others, however, claim that appearances can be deceiving, which is true. Her aura was diametrically opposed to her demeanor. She’s the type of mentor who is humble, approachable, and never demands anything in return. She always motivates you by showing her support. I’m hoping that will remain that way till the end of our term. And that’s what I discovered. Don’t be fooled by the book’s cover! Another important lesson I’ve learned in this industry is to recognize that each pupil has a unique personality. To achieve a fruitful teaching and learning process, you must address their demands by implementing various learning strategies and techniques in your classroom. I also learned how to sort modules and do form2 calculations.
