2. Potential Benefits
Project Background
The benefits of Pasir Kopo Dam are a reservoir of excess water in rainy season and for the supply of irrigation water
to maintain and increase crop production and intensity in drought season. More over, Pasir Kopo dam is intended
to supply household raw water needs, as well as for water conservation. Specifically the Pasir Kopo Dam have
benefits i.e Serang Regency Raw Water, 0.5 m3/sec; Tangerang Regency Raw Water: 3.3 m3/sec; Ciujung Irrigation
Water : 3.2m3/sec, and Hydropower potential of 2x 10.75 MW
2.2 Project Description
Along with regional development and various kind of infrastructure needs, one of which is to control flood, raw
water supply, and electricity sources. Therefore, according to the JICA study in 1995, several dams that had been
planned were important to obtain attention and have to be followed up immediately Pasir Kopo Dam in Cisimeut
River (Ciujung River Basin), Cilawang Dam (Cidurian River Basin), Tanjung Dam in Cidurian River (Cidurian River
Basin). The dam alternative site plan is located in Kampung Lebak Masigit, Desa Leuwidawar, Kecamatan
Leuwidamar, Lebak Regency. Access road to the location can be reached by car from Serang, the capital city of
Banten Province to Rangkasbitung, the capital city of Lebak Regency with a distance 41 km, then head to
Kecamatan Leuwidamar with a distance 21 km. Geographically, It is located in 106°11ʼ53,09” BT 106°15ʼ15,55” BT
