Focused Observation Assignment 1 ASSIGNMENT 1: Micro teaching (GROUPS) - 25 marks Due: Weeks beginning October 5 and 16, 2020 The purpose of this assignment is to provide you with an opportunity to develop your teaching skills under controlled conditions. For this assignment you will work with no more than THREE persons in your area of specialization to prepare and teach a 10-minute lesson to your peers. The basic elements of a lesson plan should be evident, and your topic should be guided by the relevant curriculum guide. Your plan should reflect the following: a) Headings (subject, topic, sub-topic, grade, date, duration). b) Objectives (should be specific) c) The Five E’s d) Introductory activity that is stimulating and motivational. e) Content to reflect knowledge and skills that students should learn (cite sources) f) Materials/Resources to be used by both teacher and students (books, handouts, paper, pencils, computers, specific software, etc.) g) Methodology/Procedures/Developmental Steps h) Assessment task (e.g. quiz, role play, pages in a specified text).
