Theology & Culture Essay
Introduction
In Christianity there are over 30 thousand different denominations. Although this number
may be overwhelming to look at there is one thing that all of these denominations have in
common. The Bible was directly inspired by the one true God and that the Bible is the direct
word of God. This is what Christians call biblical inspiration and inerrancy. If one is to truly be a
Christian, then they must believe in the two simple facts of biblical inspiration and inerrancy.
Biblical Inspiration and Inerrancy
What is biblical inspiration and inerrancy actually mean? Separating the two biblical
inspiration is the doctrine in Christian theology that the human authors and editors of the Bible
were led or influenced by God with the result that their writings may be designated in some
sense the word of God. There are many verses in the bible that clearly state this but one verse
that many Christians fall back to when covering this topic is 2 Timothy 3:16, “'All scripture is
inspired by God and is useful for teaching, for refutation, for correction, and for training in
righteousness.” In this verse alone one can clearly see that the Bible is directly inspired by God.
As for biblical Inerrancy that is the belief that the Bible is without error or fault in all its teaching
or, at least, that scripture in the original manuscripts does not affirm anything that is contrary to
fact. God is the most high perfect being that ever was and ever will be, if this is true and we also
believe that the Bible is His word, than this book must be perfect without error or contradiction.
Furthermore, the 1978 Chicago Statement on Inerrancy was a statement that was concluded to in
the regular quarterly meeting in February 2018. The statement was built into five smaller points.
The Moody Bible Institute concluded these five points on their website and in summary they said
that the Bible has all authority and is the perfect law of God.

Application
Based on the topics the where discussed before in this essay, one could come to the
conclusion that orthodox Christians would perceive the bible in its fullest extent as practical
today. One may think the Bible is even more relevant than ever in the age of 2020 based on what
is going on in the world alone. All of the worlds problem could be solved if everyone could
follow the Law of the Bible. Christianity provides roots to a strong relationship with not only the
all loving God, but an all loving relationship with our families and our neighbors. “Do not be
conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you
may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.” Romans 12:2.
From this verse one can see that regardless of year and whatever is going on in the world,
Christians are called to be different and not abide by the law of the world but of the law of the
bible.
Conclusion
In conclusion, if one is to truly be a Christian, then they must believe in the two simple
facts of biblical inspiration and inerrancy. From the facts stated in this essay we must pull from
the bible and follow the law of the Bible if we are to be truly moving in Gods words.
