1. Each pair in the groups creatively present a picture (sustainable means) a chosen
achievement/invention in your assigned time period.
2. Explain how each invention works.
3. Present your project in class. Conclude how the invention impacted the people and
society when they were made.
INVENTION #1: Hydra Tap
 How does the invention work?
o The invention is a water container that is made up of clay and wood. This works
by putting water inside container first, and when people get water they just
open this wood cover in the tube made of clay located at the bottom by raising
it and when done they can close it by inserting wood again.

How the invention impacts the people & society when they were made?
o The invention has an impact on people and society because it makes people's
lives easier during the greek civilization, before when they drank water they
would even knock down the jar to get water so there are chances that it will spill
water and result in water wastage especially since they also have a problem
with water shortage. This invention of ours will help them, so that they no longer
have difficulty getting water and one of its advantages is that they can better
control the flow of water because there is adjustment.
INVENTION #2: Horse Skin Coat
 How does the invention work?
o The invention has good impact to the people for it did not only give them new
clothes to wear but a good protection and to warm their bodies when they go
to war during winter season, also for a camouflage when going to war. For
someone who runs hot and cold or goes from inside to outside a lot, a jacket is a
must because it allows you to easily adjust to the temperature changes.
 How the invention impacts the people & society when they were made?
o The invention will further bring progress to the society that would be full of
healthier people and will be more creative and innovative when it comes to
developing clothing, and there would be less case of deaths due to illnesses
and hypothermia, because of lack of clothes to warm their bodies. It’s more
about lending an air of self-confidence so you hold your head higher. It can
add structure to an outfit and a feeling of purposefulness.
INVENTION #3: KRATER HYDROFILTRATE
 How does the invention work?
o The water will filter down into the container slowly. First, the gravel layer catches
large pieces of debris, such as twigs, leaves, and bugs. Next, the sand layer
catches smaller particles, such as dirt and grit, and makes the water look clean.
Next, the charcoal layer gets rid of bacteria and some chemicals. Charcoal
works through the process of adsorption. Note that adsorption is different to
absorption. Adsorption binds impurities chemically on the surface of the
charcoal filter rather than physically absorbing them. Charcoal is the ideal water
filter because it removes toxins from the water without stripping the water of salts
and important minerals. Finally, the clean cloth that will serve as a final process.
Repeat this process until the water reaches the clarity you desire.
 How the invention impacts the people & society when they were made?
o Greece has an abundance of bodies of water suitable for swimming and
bathing. However, they may not have direct access to clean drinking water.
Occasionally, people in that time were troubled by pathogens transmitted by
contaminated water. Hence, this invention may have had a significant impact
on people and society if it had been created at the time. This would provide
them with access to potable and healthier water.
