Even though all patches are included in this roll-up, only patches that are actually required for an installed
product will be applied.
The roll-up uses specific check files to confirm which product is installed. The roll-up will only install patch files
provided these files already exist on the target computer, unless a new binary file is being introduced as part of a
patch.
1. Follow the link to download and extract the latest patch roll-up. If you agree to the
Software End-User License Agreement, the latest version of the Rockwell
Automation Download Manager will be installed on your computer (if necessary),
and the patch files will be automatically downloaded and extracted to
C:\Users\Public\Downloads\RA on Windows Vista, 7 and 2008 or to
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\RA on

Windows XP and 2003.
These are default locations that can be changed anytime during the download
The Download Manager will give the user a link to take them directly to the
download folder when the download is complete.
2. Shut down all Rockwell Software applications on the local computer (for example, SE
Client, FactoryTalk View Studio, FactoryTalk Admin Console, etc).
3. You MUST Restart the target computer.
1. On a Server: Do not open any of the Rockwell Software programs. Auto-start
services (for example, HMI servers, Data servers, etc) will be-stopped during the
patch install.
2. On a Client: If FactoryTalk View SE Client is set to auto-start, ensure that it is
shut down now.
!!! This install will stop all Rockwell services on the local computer !!!
4. Double-click Setup.exe and follow the prompts.


Note: To correctly install this roll-up, the user login must have full administrative
privileges
5. You MUST Restart the computer to complete the patch update.
Functionality
1. Should only be applied to English language products
2. As of 02 Nov 2015, uses a setup.exe instead of batch files.
3. As of 04 Apr 2016, AssetCentre, FTBatch, FTServices, FTView and RSBizWare Patch
roll-ups are combined into one roll-up.
4. The Patch Roll-up can be uninstalled from the Windows Control Panel

5. Only installs the patches for the product versions that are installed on the computer.
6. Creates a log <Product Name> DD MMM YYYY_PatchInstall_<Date>_<Time>.log in
C:\Program Files\Common Files\Rockwell\Install logs

Command Line Options
The setup.exe supports the following command-line parameters (e.g. C:Patches-04.Jul.2016\Setup.exe
/Q). The parameters are not case-sensitive.
Parameter

Silent Install, installs the patch in the silent mode
without any user interface.
It’s recommended if you are deploying the installation
One of /Q and /QS is required
using an IT tool or script, and don’t expect to see any
error or restart messages.
With this parameter, IT tool or script should check the
error codes, and take action accordingly.
Unattended Install, installs the patch in the unattended
mode without user interaction during installation, and
/QS
One of /Q and /QS is required
shows the progress, errors, or complete messages on
the user interface.
With this parameter, you will not have to check the error
codes, and the installation will prompt you if there are
error or restart messages.
Optional.
Installs the patch.

