Introduction:
My name is Abby Darnley, and this is Denys Pavlov. We are both seniors at Buffalo High
School. Today we will be informing you on the Good Sports charity. First, I will be giving you am
overview of the charity we chose, then I will be informing you on the event we will plan. Next,
Denys will be describing to you what The Good Sports organization will be doing with the
money we raise. He will also be describing the cupcakes me made.
Explanation:
First off, I will be telling you about The Good Sports Charity. The Good Sports Charity
helps kids in high-need communities get the opportunity to participate in sports. The Good
Sports Charity has been successfully helping kids in need for 18 years. They have been running
since 2003, and throughout these 18 years they have donated over $81 million in sports gear to
kids in need. And now with these donations, over 8.8 million kids have had the opportunity to
play and participate in sports.
The Good Sports Program helps kids from ages 3-18 years old. Their goal is to 1)
increase the total amount of youth sports participants 2) enhance the experience for all youths
involved and 3) create new opportunities in physical activity for the kids they serve.
Our Event:
Me and Denys decided that we wanted to host a 10K at Central Park. People can enter
this race and either run, walk, or bike. We have decided that the participants can either run,
walk, or bike so there is a possibility for more competitors. Because people are either running
or biking, there will be two winners, one for biking and one for running. The two winners will
get a medal and a t-shirt. Central Park is the perfect place to hold this event because a permit
to hold activities at Central Park is only $25 as long as we follow the rules and regulations.
Central Park is also centered in one of the largest cities in the United States, leading to more
people attending the race. To ensure that people know and attend our event, we will announce
our event through social media and fliers. Good Sports is partnered with many famous athletes
who could show support or possibly attend our race. We can also contact the Good Sports
Marketing team who can post the event on their website. With all of this, we expect at least
1000 participants in our race.
Like I said before, the cost of a permit for Central Park is $25 and we estimated that all
the materials, food, water and set up will cost between $2000 - $3000. To help lessen the cost
of the race, we will provide community service to students in the community who help with the
race. We will be charging a $25 entrance fee to participate in the race. If 1000 people attend
our event, then we can provide Good Sports will at least $25,000.
I have also provided you with some pictures of Central Park to show where the
attendees will be racing.
As you can see, Central Park is a very unique and beautiful area. There is lots of people
who live and work around Central Park all the time, who may be interested in our event. I even
have pictures of people using the trails and running through the park. This middle picture shows
a previous run held at Central Park.
Now Denys will be telling you how The Good Sports Charity will be using the money we
provide to them.

1. Money spendings report
After the volumetric explanation of the organization needs, strategy and beliefs. I can assume
that you want to know the actual destination of raised money from the events and individual
sponsors. We are presenting you the transparent and clear organization and can provide you
any information of the money flow destination. The program’s main focuses were increasing
the time of play for kids as well as adding the new kids to the program by providing the whole
new equipment. The biggest contribution was received from DICK’s sporting goods along with
FOX Sports, Under Armor and Arthur M. Blank Foundation.
According to the last year report - they spent ten million dollars on the program services,
meaning the equipment and donations. One million dollars went to fundraising events and
administration. The final five million was spent on assets, including payroll, inventory, and cash
equivalents. According to this information, over sixty five percent of our donation to Good
Sports will be directly used for the kids.
2. Cupcakes
Our cupcakes are all about representing an equality between kids in sports of any social,
financial, national background. We truly believe that everyone has right to do their favorite
sport. And the organization firstly trying to solve the problem of equipment – spending millions
of dollars in different sports stores national wide. Our tablecloth and the color of cupcakes
represent the organization color. Softball is the one of the top sponsored sports by our
organization and we decided to represent it in a form of cupcake. Also, the lemon flavor
deserves to be mentioned, its bitter – just like kids’ emotional feeling when they can’t play their
favorite sports without equipment. Also, lemon drinks are very popular during the summer
sport and reminds us of the good time spent with our friends and team.
3. Conclusion
Smoothly moving to the conclusion, I would like to draw your attention once again to the event
witch we going to be holding. I want to emphasize the transparency of the organization which
we are presenting, showing that all money will reach the destination and every cent matters is
this life-saving help. We strongly believe that together we can make our world and future
better. We must act today to achieve our goal in near future. As we discussed the number of
kids served (nearly 9 million) we can come to the thought that youth kids need sports in their
life and foundation of the healthy society is an – freedom, sports, and education. Supporting
Good Sports charity, you fully help to one of the three foundations of the healthy society. We
highly appreciate your interest and attention to our charity.
