Week 2 - Geometric Shapes
This week, we will focus on learning shape names and solving geometry problems.
This packet is due on Thursday. It will be worth half if turned in late.
We will have our Second Quiz on Thursday, June 9th.
You will be tested on the proper name of the shapes and their spelling.
Use the following space to practice and learn the following 2D and 3D shapes in this packet.
Quiz 2 will require you to spell the shape names correctly for full points.
Incorrect spellings will result in half points on the quiz.
2-Dimensional (2D) Shapes. Spell each shape correctly 3 times each.

The distance around a circle is its circumference, a fancy word for
saying perimeter. It’s only used to refer to circles.
The distance from one end of a circle to another is the DIAMETER.
HALF the distance from one end of a circle to another is a RADIUS.
Area
Area is the space inside a shape. Each shape uses a different
formula to find its area. Here are some examples.
