Speech Title: Brazil as a vacation destination.
Specific Purpose: To inform my audience about things to do while vacationing in Brazil.
Thesis Statement/Central Idea: Brazil is an affordable vacation destination and offers worldly
experiences.
INTRODUCTION:
1. Attention Getter: Summer time! I believe I speak for all of us when I say that it would
be very nice to spend a vacation at a tropical country, right?!
2. Thesis Statement: Brazil is an affordable vacation destination and offers worldly
experiences.
3. Audience Relevance: Brazil is an underrated vacation destination. There are so many
cool things to do for less money than other popular tropical destinations. You can explore
the culinary and biodiversity, have adventures in wild and enjoy beautiful beaches.
4. Establish Credibility: I have lived in Brazil for 22 years and have done some cool
things, therefore I can inform you on what are the best things to do in order to have an
enjoyable trip.
5. Preview of main points: Brazil is a great place to vacation as it offers some diverse
experiences such as sightseeing, interesting culinary and activities.
Transition: Now, let me tell you about all of the wonderful things you can do in Brazil.

MAIN POINT: Brazil has some of the world’s richest and most diverse ecosystems to
explore with ecotourism
a. According to the International Ecotourism Society Brazil is one of the world’s
17 megadiverse countries. Brazil has an incredibility wide variety of
ecosystems including but not limited to rainforests, grasslands, savannas,
shrublands and mangroves some interesting activities
b. The International Ecotourism society calls the Amazon the largest and most intact
rainforest region in the world. In the Amazon you can fish for piranha, jungle
walk and swim with pink river dolphins, just to name a few of the amazing
available excursions.
c. According to Avery Stonich from The National Geographic, “The Pantanal
quietly boasts the highest concentration of wildlife on the continent.” The
Pantanal offers many activities such as jeep safaris, horseback rides, trekking,
canoeing, and you can even see jaguars during the dry season.

Transition: Brazil also has some of the most beautiful beaches in the world.

MAIN POINT: CNN ranks Praia do Sancho and Porto da Barra in the top 100 in
the world.
a. Some of the things you can do at the beach include, but are not limited to
i.
Play sports like footvolley, which is a sport that combines soccer and
volleyball.
ii. If you prefer a more laid back beach experience you can also do some
sightseeing and relax while enjoying a caipirinha
iii. People watch, dance or meet with the locals.
Transition: While you are on the beach you can explore some of the amazing foods Brazil has
to offer.
III.
MAIN POINT: Explore the Culinary.
a. The most iconic Brazilian food is the Coxinha.
i. It’s a deep fried potato crust with chicken and cheese feeling, shaped to
resemble a chicken leg.
b. There is also the Caipirinha.
i. Catherine Balston from BBC lists the caipirinha, an alcoholic drink
made of sugar cane and lime as Brazil’s national drink as some of 10 top
foods to try in Brazil.
Transition: In summary
CONCLUSION:
1. Signal the end: As we conclude today, I hope you learned about some cool things to do
when vacationing in Brazil.
2. Review of main points: Like the breath-taking beaches, delicious food, and incredible
adventures.
3. Clincher: Brazil, a place where the bikinis are small, the hearts are big, and the arms are
open.
