1. What is an alcohol? What kinds of
alcohol do you know? Is it safe to
drink different varieties of alcohol?
2. What are the effects of drinking
alcohol?
What is Alcohol?
Alcohol is a colorless,
bitter-tasting substance
that humans have been
consuming since the
ancient times.
Fermentation
Fermentation is the
process of extracting
alcohol from a plant or
a fruit.
An example of fermented
alcohol is a beer. A beer is
extracted from grains. On the
other hand, wines are from
grapes and other fruits.
Ano ang Sinasabi ng Bibliya Tungkol sa Alak? Kasalanan
Ba ang Uminom?
Ang sagot ng Bibliya
Hindi kasalanan ang uminom ng alak nang
katamtaman.
Timoteo 5:23.
1 Timoteo 5:23
Ephesians 5:18 -- "And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess;
but be filled with the Spirit;"
Ang sobrang pag-inom ay nakakawala ng
pagpipigil sa sarili at hiya at “nag-aalis ng
mabuting motibo.”—Oseas 4:11; Efeso
5:18.
18 Huwag din kayong magpakalasing sa
alak,a dahil umaakay ito sa
masamang* pamumuhay; sa halip, patuloy
ninyong pagsikapan na mapuspos ng espiritu.
Galatians 5:19-21 New International Version (NIV)
19 The acts of the flesh are obvious: sexual
immorality, impurity and debauchery; 20 idolatry
and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of
rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions 21 and
envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like. I warn
you, as I did before, that those who live like this
will not inherit the kingdom of God.
There are three types of alcohol:
1. isopropyl 2. methanol 3. ethanol
Isopropyl and methanol are used in
laboratories and are poisonous and fatal
if taken. On the other hand, ethanol is
also called the beverage alcohol. This is
what humans consume that intoxicates
and alters the nervous system.

BRAIN
Alcohol can reach the brain in a short
amount of time and the brain’s ability to
control the body is greatly affected.
Fine motor skills, speech, and vision
may be affected.
HEART
 Alcohol causes the heart rate to increase and the
blood vessels to expand.
 Due to the expanded blood vessels, blood is
circulated closer to the outer most layer of skin,
allowing the body’s heat to escape easier.
LIVER
The liver is the organ that processes the
alcohol in the body and turns it back into
water and carbon dioxide.
When more alcohol is consumed faster than
the liver can handle, the alcohol continues to
circulate the blood stream causing
intoxication.
Respiratory System
The lungs release carbon dioxide
from the body while a person is
breathing.
The water passes out of the body
in the form of urine, perspiration,
and breath vapor.
STOMACH
Some of the alcohol consumed by a person will
pass through the lining of their stomach to reach
the bloodstream.

Alcoholism in the Philippines is
evident. It is said that alcohol drinking
is one of the most addictive habit of
Filipinos (Richard Zarco). Alcoholism
affects a person‟s everyday life. It
alters the normal activities of a
person.
With this, the person‟s family will be
affected too. Reported cases of family
violence are resulted from alcohol
addiction. If these cases get worse,
effects will be shown on a larger
scale. The communities and even the
whole country will be affected.
