INTRODUCTION Sustainability is the capability to be maintained at a certain level. There are 3 principles of sustainability. Those 3 include: environmental, economic, and social. This brochure demonstrates the principles, and a good understanding on how to make your city sustainable. ENVIRONMENTAL ECONOMIC TRACK AND PLANT A TREE AGRICULTURE Planting more trees is crucial for our environment for the following reasons: - Provides oxygen - Improves air quality - Supports Wildlife - ETC. As you can see, trees are very important to our environment. To improve the population of trees in our environment, a great solution would be to create a device or a system informing citizens about this issue. Melbourne, Australia has created a website titled "Urban Forest Visual", which allows Australians to plant a tree, track it, and share it on all social media platforms. This is an idea I approve of, and would love to be apart of my city. To make my city more sustainable economically, I would like to create an agricultural environment. To do so, my city needs to develop more space for land, generating sustainability. Creating land space will lead to agricultural opportunities which include the following: - Agricultural practices - Local food producers - Locally produced food SOCIAL EXTRA IDEAS COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT NATURE Community engagement is a relationship process which allows people to expand their relationships with citizens in their community. There are many types of community engagement. Types which I would like to include in my city are the following: - Community Building - Community Organizations - Community Education - Etc. To make my city more sustainable, I will encourage the citizens to be as involved as possible, to create a more liveable environment for all. Urban Growing: - Rooftop Gardens - Farmer's Markets - Encouraging Children To Learn How To Produce Food In Schools - Encouraging People To Grow Gardens (backyard, etc.) Create More Space For Nature: - Improve Biodiversity - Improve air quality - Green Environment COLLABORATION - Create collaborative partnerships to improve collaboration for the community - Encourages people to work together rather than against one another CONCLUSION As you can see, sustainability is crucial to creating a better environment for all. To encourage sustainability in your city, spread awareness and you will make an impact in your city. "Sustainability is treating ourselves and our environment as if we are to live on this earth forever" - Arron Wood
