Christian Andrade Ibarra 2022 UNIT 1 ACTIVITY 1 FOCUSED ON NATURAL SOUND SOURCE Topic: Real Sound Stories Objective: Students will be able to recognize and imitate natural sounds around them in order to create a story. Activity Description: Students will create a story that involves natural sounds. Then, they are going to choose the objects that imitate the sound that is included in the story. As a final product, the students are going to interpret the story. Examples: ACTIVITY 2 FOCUSED ON MUSICAL SOURCE Topic: Complete the lyrics Objective: Students will be able to listen and recognize the lyrics of a song to complete the blank spaces. Activity Description: The teacher is going to give the students a worksheet with incomplete song lyrics that they have to complete while they listen to the song. Examples: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e51blk8qTlY ACTIVITY 3 FOCUSED ON TOOL-MAKING SOURCE Topic: Objective: Students will learn new verbs through mimics. Activity Description: - Students are going to form a circle with the tables to facilitate the activity process. - Divide the class in two groups (Girls and boys). - One volunteer of each group will pass at the middle of the circle and select one piece of paper with the action that they will have to do (these verbs are previous selected by the teacher). - The rest of the class must guess what action the volunteer is doing, the first group that guess correctly wins. UNIT 2 ACTIVITY 1 FOCUSED ON CULTURAL TRANSMISSION Topic: Broken Phone Objective: Students will learn that message transmission may be changed along the way. Activity Description: - Gather 3 or more students. - The person starting the game thinks of a word or phrase and whispers it into the next player´s ear only once with no repeats. - If the message is received correctly, students will win. However, if the message gets broken they will lose. ACTIVITY 2 FOCUSED ON ARBITRARINESS Topic: Objective: Students will recognize the word meaning according to the objects. Activity Description: - Put different objects on the board. Give the students flashcards with different words related with the object. Students have to match the flashcard with the picture. ACTIVITY 3 FOCUSED ON DISPLACEMENT Topic: Objective: Students will recognize time passing of an specific event. Activity Description: - Put pictures of a plant’s life cycle on the board. - Give students flashcards with time description (i.e. 20 years ago, 2 days ago, in 30 years). - Students have to put the correct flashcards below the correct plant image. UNIT 3 ACTIVITY 1 FOCUSED ON COMPOUNDING Topic: Word formation. Objective: Students will create new words using the compounding method. Activity description: - Divide the class in small groups of 5 students. - Give the students a selected list of words with their meaning. - Teacher will explain how compounding works and how we can create new words using this method. - In the groups and with the list of words students have to create new words using their imagination and give to each word a meaning. ACTIVITY 2 FOCUSED ON DERIVATION Topic: Objective: Students will form words with the last syllable of the word given by their classmates. Activity description: - Teacher will explain how to do this activity, students have to use the last syllable of the last word given and say a word using it (i.e. large, general). - The student that can not continue with the chain will lose and he/she will have to answer a question related with the topic. ACTIVITY 3 FOCUSED ON CLIPPING Topic: Objective: Activity description: -
