All Muslims (physically and mentally well) start fasting from the age of puberty during Ramadan. The sick & travelling people, nursing & pregnant women may postpone fasting. The very old, permanently ill and very weak people are excused from fasting. They may feed a needy person for each missed day, if they can afford to.
