Humility Is not the helpless surrender To something or someone else. Humility Is not a frightened child. Humility Is real receptivity in us. If we receive with devoted humility, Then immediately our receptive vessels increases. Humility Is the secret of secrets For self expansion, For world inspiration and for world transformation. Humility Is the quality of having a modest or low view of one's importance. It confounds arrogance. Humility Is a perceptive change. It brings about a new you -AKINBILE ADEJOKE ”THE VIRTUE” Oblivious about humility, the rich fills his plate And thus have the weak feed from tiny droplets. He knows not the virtue that doles out kindness -he knows not humility. He is distorted to that path of transient happiness, yielding pride. He sees not the virtue that loves, accepts and cherishes all. He perceives meekness as weakness, and thus his unending game of self-exultation. He knows not the greatest of values... He knows not humility #beHumble -BEBE YAO PAUL “WHAT CHANGED ANGELS” Genuine Humility is not when you think less of yourself. It is thinking of yourself less. Humility is being able to accept criticisms as graciously as we accept compliments. Humility makes us real and helps us to appreciate and admire the good qualities in others. You know, it was pride that changed Angels into Devils. It is humility that makes men as Angels. -ADELEYE VICTOR “A WONDERFUL QUALITY” OH HUMILITY, WHAT A WONDERFUL QUALITY; EVEN THE MIGHTY IS NOTHING WITHOUT HUMILITY; WHENEVER THERE IS ENMITY AND HYPOCRISY; IF THE GUILTY IS WILLING TO SAY SORRY; HUMILITY WILL BRING FORTH TRANQUILITY; SO DON'T BE AN ENTITY FULL OF ENVY; FOR HUMILITY BRINGS FORTH PEACE AND HARMONY. -FASINU PROSPER “LESS OF YOURSELF” Humility is not is not thinking less of yourself It’s thinking of yourself less If you are humble, nothing will touch you Neither praise nor disgrace Because you know what you are -OKEDI JENNIFER “FERTILE SEED” The seed of humility is exceptionally fertile. It may not germinate plants of power and force. But it does yield flowers of Sweetness, Grace, Modesty, and Light. - ADAUSU JOSHUA “A GODLIKE QUALITY” Humility is a godlike quality Even in diversity It creates harmonious entity Preventing bitter enmity Before a crash, the heart is lofty Before glory, there is humility Humility, perceived in divinity! -OGBONNA HUMBLE “SEED OF EQUALITY” As no respecter of conferred status Cancelling lines carved by unruliness and self ego Yet breaking carved distances built by men regarding mere mortals with prejudiced view It stood so defiant releasing garments of servility Preaching men into modesty To yield forth the seed of equality -FIDELIS ELIZABETH “HUMILITY MATTERS” What does it benefit a man to flaunt his pride and lose his dignity? Fighting so hard to keep his head high only to end up an amputee It could have been better but humans will always be filled with anxiety Will I be accepted or will I be thrown out by the authority? Don't use pride to cover up your laxity Because our dignity matter a lot to our posterity So instead of arrogance and nonchalance, just bring yourself down and maintain humility Because just one “I'm sorry” or “please” or any form of humility won't hurt but improve your morbidity. -ABDULKAREEM ZAINAB “THE BEST LEGACY” A man crafty and lofty; Cannot understand the modesty associated with humility; He sees it as an oddity causing enmity; For him it is a case of irregularity lacking legality; But honestly there is no doubtabilty; That humility brings tranquility and equality; That's why I say Humility is the best Legacy. -EKUNIFE GIFT “NOTHING WITHOUT YOU” The father of virtues that beget respect In you man has found the sweetest A honey comb for the one who possess you A fountain of growth for one who adores you A man who has a quiver of you shakes the earth One who without you will live in sheath Humans are nothing without you -AKOMOLAFE JOSHUA “CATALYST OF GROWTH” A virtue that has risen mankind A friend of the meek in mind A man of gentility in the highway of life You are a catalyst of growth A meal for individuals that want to grow Beneath and beyond you're well known to excel, To perspire you should be owned -FIDELIS GRACE “QUALITY OF THE SUN” Humility is a godlike quality Even in diversity Creates harmonious entity During bitter enmity Haughtiness leads to destruction And a painful crash But humility is restoration From an immeasurable clash Pride and haughtiness To the stupid one belong Humility and Mightiness Will the wise carry along Humility, a quality of the sun Humility, perceived even in the dawn Humility, expressed when a baby is born Humility, has won From haughtiness you should flee For it is like a withered tree But with humility you will see That is it wise to be free I am better than you In everybody's sight Though this might be true But not in the brightest light In humility, strive to remain In quality, you become new This feat, try to maintain And you will become like the dew Humility, a quality of the sun Humility, perceived even in the dawn Humility, expressed when a baby is born Humility, has won -OGBONNA HUMBLE “HER CONSTANT COMPANION” Humility is very important because it keeps you fresh and new. Humility is throwing oneself away in complete concentration on something or someone else. Humility is nothing but truth and pride is nothing but lying. Selflessness is humility. Humility and freedom go hand in hand. Only a humble person can be free. Pride makes us artificial and humility makes us real, the greatest friend of truth is time, her greatest enemy is prejudice and her constant companion is humility. -ELISHA ANUOLUWAPO “THE MASTER'S LESSON” Staring through the depth of the darkness of their souls, The Master could not help but get sad That they were not seeing beyond their nose. An argument here, An argument there, An argument everyday and everywhere. Who will be the Master's most cherished, Most loved, In his mansion that is most furnished? "Not you but I", they all argued As they couldn't see eye to eye. And so the master, Diving into his ocean of knowledge that was very wide, He fished out their problem; it was pride. And so to teach them the opposite, He took them to the inner chamber And made them take their seats. "Pride goes before a fall. Just be humble and meek And you shall get that which you seek; Whether it attracts friends or foes", He said this as he took a bowl of water And washed their toes. -FASINU CONFIDENCE “IT LEADS TO LIFE” Cornerstone of all virtue Basis for modifying one's attitude Opening the door of progress depends on humility. Frowns at disunity Precept to peace and unity Greatness is humility that doesn’t need to be noticed A virtue that moves us to quest for peace Even if we are wronged. Part of principles of becoming a leader. Egotism leads to destruction Humility leads to life. -JODA OJUOLAPE “FOOLED” The words drop like honey From the preacher’s lip. We all yearn to possess it So to it we leap. Hands lifted and heads bowed As we eat from the holy bowls. Alas! The wind blew and our sights renew And we saw how we’ve been fooled For our preacher chewed in a dilatory manner the holy communion To be seen of all eyes as infallible So we all went back home haughtier than we came For humility cannot be forged. -Whesu Henriette “BE HUMBLE” A thorned crown. It breaks you down. I searched every nook and cranny; I found a few down to earth. “Be humble!” So my pastor cried every Sunday. I guess you forgot too quickly; Humility keeps lots of ‘ships’ stronger And makes you go farther. -IYERE JOY “HUMILITY” A generic quality passed on generationally Some wear humility as a breast plate While some stump on it and never look back Yes, humility a very challenging quality to live by Brings upon appraisal on humans So, although might cost us a whole lot, Let us boldly show this very quality As soldiers and warriors gracefully carry their weapons. -TAIWO OMOLARA
