Rwanda is a country located in Central Africa. It borders Burundi, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Tanzania, and Uganda. Its population is 12.37 Million. 43.7% of Rwanda's population is Roman Catholic. Its capital is Kigali and currency is Rwandan Franc. French and English is the professional language there. It has world largest record of Highest Representation of Women in Parliament. Rwanda’s major foreign exchange earners include mining, tourism, coffee and tea, and continued growth in these sectors will be critical for economic development and poverty reduction. More than 75% of adults were handed piece of lands for farming, but after the rapid growth of development and technology in 2019 the increment in literacy rate makes them to run start-ups and enhance or maintain GDP growth. Role of Large industries in the economic development of Rwanda: There are three main industries that economy of Rwanda depends on. Tourism Mining Agriculture Tourism is the largest source of foreign exchange earnings in Rwanda and was projected to grow at a rate of 25% every year from 2013-21. The sector is the biggest contributor to the national export strategy. Total revenues generated from the sector in 2019 alone was USD 498 million and predict $800 million for 2024. Rwanda earned about US$733m from mineral exports, making mining the biggest source of export revenues after tourism. The top exports of Rwanda are Gold ($444M), Refined Petroleum ($137M), Coffee ($75.5M), Tea ($72.5M), and Tin Ores ($71.2M).
