First write out HKAT (Stands for hips, knees, ankles, toes)
Next write out L2-L5 next to HKAT in that order
o H L2
o K L3
o A L4
o T L5
Anterior and posterior movement rules work for all anterior and posterior movements.
o Anterior movement
▪ Add one level to the one listed
• Example: H Flex = L2, L3
o Posterior movement
▪ Add two levels after anterior movements
• Example: H Flex=L2, L3, Ext=L4, L5
Inward and Outward movements
o Medial/lateral hip rotation = ankle inversion/eversion
▪ Does not follow Ant/post rule
o Hip adduction/abduction
▪ Follows ant/post rule for hip flex/ext but has an extra level on adduction
