Procedure Text Exercise Emerald Zakri Musthafa XI MIA 1 1. What is the definition of AR according to Ryan Kopinsky? Augmented reality is a digital media that allows you to overlay virtual content into the physical world in a way that makes it seem like the content is physically there. AR esentially allows us to merge the digital and physical world. 2. Why AR needs a well lighting and texturing? To make the augmented objects look as realistic as possible, by blending in the object with the physical world through realistic lighting. 3. Retell with your own words/sentences about how AR works based on the procedure text that consist Goal/Aims, Materials and Instructions. How Augmented Reality Works Goals: To understand how augmented reality works Materials: - AR enabled device with specialized hardware and software (Smartphone/AR Glasses) - Surrounding environment Steps: 1. Your AR device uses the cameras, sensors, and specialized software to map the surrounding environment. 2. Your hardware also detects your position by tracking or localization to keep track where you are in relation to your environment. 3. Once mapping and localization are working well for the surroundings, augmented content can take place. 4. In addition to mapping and localization, AR hardware also detects light intensity and color temperature to make things as realistic as possible, by projecting realistic lighting to the augmented object.
