DETAILED LESSON PLAN
TEACHER: JOAN B. GUTIERREZ
Teaching Date: January 23, 2020
Time/Section: 9:50 – 10:50; 7 - Quezon
Learning Area: MATHEMATICS 7
I. OBJECTIVES
Objectives must be met over the week and connected to the curriculum standards. To meet the objectives, necessary
procedures must be followed and if needed, additional lessons, exercises and remedial activities may be done for
developing content knowledge and competencies. These are assessed using Formative Assessment strategies.
Valuing objectives support the learning of content and competencies and enable children to find significance and joy
in learning the lessons. Weekly objectives shall be derived from the curriculum guides.
A.
Content Standards
The learners’ demonstrates understanding of key concepts of geometry of shapes
and sizes, and geometric relationships.
B.
Performance Standards
The learner is able to create models of plane figures and formulate and solve
accurately authentic problems involving sides and angles of a polygon.
C. Learning Competencies/
Objectives
Write the LC code for
each
The learner derives relationships of geometric figures using measurements
and by inductive reasoning; supplementary angles, complementary angles,
congruent angles, vertical angles, adjacent angles, linear pairs, perpendicular
lines, and parallel lines (M7GE-IIIb-1).
Specific objectives :The learner
a. finds the complement and supplement of an angle
b. investigates complementary and supplementary angles.
c. differentiates complementary angles from supplementary angles
d. solves problems involving complementary and supplementary angles.

IV. PROCEDURES
A.

supplementary angles; Worksheets involving complementary and supplementary
angles
Reviewing previous
lesson or presenting the
new lesson
These steps should be done across the week. Spread out the activities appropriately so that students will learn well.
Always be guided by demonstration of learning by the students which you can infer from formative assessment
activities. Sustain learning systematically by providing students with multiple ways to learn new things, practice
their learning, question their learning processes, and draw conclusions about what they learned in relation to their
life experiences and previous knowledge. Indicate the time allotment for each step.
The learners will have a recall on the terms that was previously discussed.
Ask them what does the adage “No Man is an Island”.

B.
Establishing a purpose for
the lesson
Encourage the learners that having a strong foundation in learning
Mathematical concepts such as having knowledge on supplementary angles
and complementary will lead them to be successful in their future career.
C. Presenting
examples/instances of the
new lesson
Present the topic by showing graphical sketch of complementary and
supplementary angles. Let the students draw definition of complementary and
supplementary angles
D. Discussing new concepts
and practicing new skills
#1
Illustrate and discuss complementary angles.
E.
F.
Discussing new concepts
and practicing new skills
#2
Illustrate and discuss supplementary angles.
Developing mastery
(leads to Formative
Assessment 3)
Solve problems involving supplementary and complementary angles. BINGO
GAME
How are angles part of our outside world?
If there were no angles, how do you think our world would
be different?
G. Finding practical
applications of concepts
and skills in daily living
In our own area, where can see applications of supplementary angles? (real
life application) Expected answers infrastructures, roof design, building,
architectural
What can you offer to be a supplement to society and what are some things
about you that need to be complemented? (integration to values education)
H. Making generalizations
and abstractions about
the lesson
Let the learners differentiate supplementary and complementary angles.
Ask learners to generalize or summarize the topic
I.
Evaluating learning
Give a seatwork on supplementary and complementary angles. (WORKSHEET)
J.
Additional activities for
application or remediation
V. REMARKS
VI. REFLECTION
A.
No. of learners who earned 80% in the evaluation
B.
No. of learners who require additional activities for remediation
C. Did the remedial lessons work? No. of learners who have caught
up with the lesson
Not applicable

D. No. of learners who continue to require remediation
None
E.
Which of my teaching strategies worked well? Why did these
work?
Grouping is seen to very effective in every classroom
activity. Collaboration is evident. The students are seen
to be very cooperative in learning process.
Differentiated activity is also very much effective
because it caters to the multiple intelligences present in
each student.
F.
What difficulties did I encounter which my principal or supervisor
can help me solve?
None
G. What innovation or localized materials did I use/discover which I
wish to share with other teachers?
Prepared by:
Bingo game is very interesting and fun. The students will
enjoy the game while learning.
