HOW TO STUDY!
By starting early and doing a little each night, you will never need to cram everything in
your head the night before. Studying for tests becomes EASY!
DAILY:
1. Each night you should re – read your notes to go over the major concept you learned
in class.
2. If you don’t understand your notes, go to your textbook (online) and read the pages
on the unit.
a. Make an outline using the major headings and important information.
3. Make flash cards of vocabulary and review them.
a. After making the flash cards, quiz yourself, making two piles as you go through the
words; a right pile and a wrong pile.
b. After you have gone through the whole stack, pick up the “wrong” pile and go
through them again. Again, make a right and wrong pile.
c. Pick up the wrong pile again…keep doing this until there is no wrong pile.
d. DO THIS NIGHTLY!
ONCE THE TEST IS ANNOUNCED:
1. Look over old tests and quizzes.
a. If you are studying for a unit exam, go to regentsprep.org and go over the
interactive unit quizzes.
b. If you are studying for a quarterly, midterm, final, or regents exam; redo your
unit exams (at least 3 times). Again, regentsprep.org has all the old regents
exams to practice on as well! If you feel like really putting in time to study,
come see me for an awsome study tip for old tests!
2. Look over any book notes you took
