2. (40 points) Exercise 1.8-1.9-1.12(a)-1.13-1.22 from the theoretical exercises
section of chapter 1 of the book (exercises 1.8 and 1.9 are considered only
one exercise)
3. (10 points) In class we solved the exercises of how many regions n lines
(no two lines parallel and no three lines meet at a single point) divide the
plane. What about n circles?
4. (10 points) What about the planes in the space? (in other words, what is
the maximum number of regions that can be formed with n planes?)
