Welcome to the City of Brampton! As a condition of employment, your position requires the satisfactory completion of
a criminal record check. The type of check used (either a standard check or one for those working with members of the
vulnerable sector) is determined by your position and as indicated above as determined by your supervisor.
Returning employees who have provided a past criminal record check must acknowledge by signing this employment
agreement that there has been no change to the previous criminal background reference on file.
Please note, that for those employed in positions that require a criminal record check for the vulnerable sector will
need to have the check completed on a regular basis – at a minimum of once every three years. You are required to
obtain your own search through your local police service.
For New Employees:
By signing this document, you consent to having a criminal record check conducted.
For positions involved with the vulnerable sector, you acknowledge that the City
may request a search at anytime, but will require one upon reaching three years of
employment.
For Returning Employees: By signing this document, you are confirming that your criminal record check has not
changed since your hire.
